Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Luiz Benedetti, Sandro Tonali and Gabriel Jesus that you guys could have missed…
It has again been claimed that Arsenal have made the decision to hand Gabriel Jesus the contract he is looking for after impressing since making his way back from Injury earlier last month.
Mikel Arteta has really built a side that is now capable of winning that Premier League title, they sit top of the tree, and a side that can maybe push on and even win that Champions league title.
However, the rumour mill is buzzing with speculation about potential incomings and outgoings at the Emirates Stadium and there has been alot of talk about the future of Gabriel Jesus, a player that Mikel Arteta has been very loyal too.
It has been claimed in recent days that Italian giants Inter Milan are ready to swoop in and offer him a way out of Arsenal, as his contract expires at the end of the current season, and ARSENAL may be open to the idea of letting him leave.
However – the Brazilian does not want to leave ARSENAL and after impressing over the past few weeks, reports have claimed that Arsenal are willing to sit round the table with Jesus and come to an agreement over a new contract.
The news comes after Gabriel Jesus recently told the club to offer him a new deal so he can fulfil his dream of winning multiple trophies at the club: “I want to extend my contract, I want to stay, I want to win trophies with Arsenal because I came here with that purpose and that’s it.
“But obviously the reality is different sometimes. Sometimes it’s to go another way, but my focus is staying healthy and winning trophies with Arsenal.”
Does Jesus deserve a new Arsenal contract?
There have been times over the past few seasons that Gabriel Jesus has been quality, he works so hard for the club and puts in some solid performances, but there has been alot more occasions that he is out with an injury.
He is a very good player to have as a back-up, when he is fit, but this is the perfect opportunity for ARSENAL to get his massive £250k-a-week wages off the books and add a younger back-up striker to the squad.
TONALI TIPPED FOR MOVE
Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio has tipped Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali to join Serie A giants Juventus in the future, despite the interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Towards the end of the January transfer window, ARSENAL were heavily linked with a move for the Italian star as reports suggested that Mikel Arteta was looking to replace the injured Mikel Merino, who could be out for some time.
But that move obviously never happened and Tonali is staying put to try and help Newcastle get back into Europe and compete against the very best teams, but that may not be the case next season if you believe all the transfer rumours.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marchisio was asked whether he would pursue a free transfer for Bernardo Silva, who is out of contract at Manchester City this summer. However, the former midfielder pivoted and said his former club needed to bring in strong Italian players to help them in their bid to return to the top of Serie A.
He said: “Football changes, but the DNA of clubs does not. Juventus have always had a core group of Italian champions and needs to rebuild it. [Gianluigi] Donnarumma seems unattainable to me, he just moved to Manchester City.
‘Tonali seems more feasible. He would be an excellent starting point, but patience will be needed.”
Will Tonali make the move back to Italian football?
Tonali is a quality player that could make that next step in his career, especially if he wants to play at the highest level and compete for the biggest trophies, we can see him leaving even if Newcastle get into Europe
It seems that the midfielder will have alot of options to choose from in the summer, we are sure that ARSENAL, Chelsea and Man United will all want to try and get some kind of transfer deal done.
A move to Juventus would really tempt Tonali, but he is settled in England and he would get a much better wage if he stays in the Premier League that is for sure.
ARSENAL GREEN LIGHT SIGN BRAZILIAN STARLET
Brazilian centre-back Luiz Benedetti could be on his way to Arsenal this summer after Palmeiras signalled they are ready to sell the talented lad at the end of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season, according to reports via Sport Witness.
Benedetti, who stands nearly 2 metres tall and has been increasingly influential at the back for Palmeiras, has drawn widespread attention from Europe’s top clubs with his composed defending, aerial ability and ball-playing skills — traits that have made him one of Brazil’s most intriguing young centre-backs.
Sources in Brazil suggest that Palmeiras’ transfer stance has evolved in recent weeks, with the club now internally preparing for the possibility of Benedetti departing for Europe.
Rather than blocking a move outright, the Brazilian side are reportedly intent on finalising a replacement before sanctioning his exit, which could open the door for ARSENAL to step up their pursuit.
Arsenal, who have monitored the defender closely, are believed to be among a select group of suitors keeping tabs on his situation, with scouts impressed by his tactical maturity and ability to play in a back four — a style that could fit well under manager Mikel Arteta’s defensive system.
Despite interest, negotiations are expected to be delicate. Earlier this month reports suggested Palmeiras were holding out for a significant fee — around €20 million — after rebuffing an initial €10 million approach, underscoring the club’s valuation of the teenage defender’s potential.
ARSENAL’s recruitment strategy has placed increased emphasis on bolstering defensive depth, and Benedetti’s profile as a long-term investment fits that blueprint. However, competition for his signature is likely to be keen; clubs from Italy and Spain have also been linked with formal approaches in recent transfer windows.
Should a deal be agreed, Benedetti’s move would represent another high-profile South American transfer to north London, following Arsenal’s recent trend of recruiting emerging talents from Brazil and beyond.
Negotiations are expected to gather pace as European clubs formalise their summer plans
