Mike is used to approaching problems from all sides, with strong relationships with gangs and law enforcement. However, his relationship with Evelyn Foley has broken down in a big way due to her involvement in getting Kyle locked up in prison.

As it turns out, Evelyn was pushing hard to get a conviction against Robert Sawyer, who has frequently used excessive force and killed people in the line of duty. But to get to him, she tries to press Kyle and force him into a deal to secure his freedom. Kyle chose to protect Robert.

This is largely due to the high likelihood that Robert would flip on the others and create a much bigger problem. But for Mike, this has led to his relationship with Evelyn, the Assistant District Attorney, falling apart, which will likely make it much harder to run things.

Upon his arrival at Anchor Bay, Kyle is greeted with catcalls and jeering from the inmates, before one prisoner manages to get to him and brutally beats him with a lock in a sock. Kyle suffers from some broken bones, but he can’t go to the infirmary for fear that he will be attacked there too.

Then, while he lies in agony in his cell, he hears Callaghan, the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood speaking to him from the next cell over. This could very well point to Kyle experiencing a similar path in prison to Mike, who joined the Aryan Brotherhood to survive while he was inside.

With so much set up for what comes next in Mayor of Kingstown season 4, it’s bound to be another eventful season.
