and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are forced to join forces in this action movie spin-off, which has finally found a new streaming home. Released back in 2019, The Stath and The Rock’s Fast and Furious team-up movie, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, has not been available to stream anywhere. Which, frankly, is tantamount to cinematic sacrilege. Thankfully, streaming platform Peacock
has now stepped up, adding the Hobbs and Shaw outing to its library.
Directed by David Leitch from a script by Chris Morgan and Drew Pearce, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw takes place after the events of The Fate of the Furious and before the events of F9 and follows Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw and Dwayne Johnson Luke Hobbs as they face off against Idris Elba’s “Black Superman” Brixton Lore. Brimming with lively banter from the charismatic stars, as well as action sequences that lean into the differences between the pair’s respective sets of skills, you can check out the official synopsis for the Statham/Johnson spin-off below.
“Brixton Lorr is a cybernetically enhanced soldier who possesses superhuman strength, a brilliant mind and a lethal pathogen that could wipe out half of the world’s population. Will We Ever See ‘Hobbs & Shaw 2’?
Upon release, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw was met with somewhat mixed reviews from critics, though it still holds a coveted red tomato alongside a score of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences, however, were far more enamored with the Fast and Furious spin-off, awarding the action outing a score of 88% on the Popcornmeter. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw was a smash hit at the box office, grossing over $760 million worldwide, and leaving fans to wonder where exactly is the sequel?
Well, it may finally be on the horizon, with Hobbs and Shaw writer Chris Morgan having revealed recently that he is currently writing “a Hobbs & Shaw kind of script.” Which we can only assume means he’s bringing the titular duo back for another adventure.
“It’s under lock and key. I can say that I’m working on a Hobbs & Shaw kind of script. So we’ll see where that goes, but I’m excited about it.”

While we await the arrival of Hobbs and Shaw 2, both Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson continue to cement their legacies as action movie icons. The Stath will next reunite with The Beekeeper director David Ayer for A Working Man (formerly Levon’s Trade). From a script by Sylvester Stallone, A Working Man is due to hit theaters on March 28, 2025, and follows Statham as a former black ops agent who, while living a simple life working in construction, finds himself called back into action after his boss’s daughter is kidnapped. Dwayne Johnson, meanwhile, hopes to stretch his dramatic muscles alongside his action ones in the upcoming sports biopic The Smashing Machine from director Benny Safdie and A24.
