Jamie Carragher says Mohamed Salah to stay Liverpool

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that Mohamed Salah will extend his stay on Merseyside due to a lack of options elsewhere, despite all the transfer reports in the media that he will have a number of offers on the table

The Egyptian’s deal runs out in June and there is rampant speculation about whether he will commit to another year as there is no agreement with Liverpool about staying at the club beyond the season.

That has led to alot of speculation about where he could end up if he does decide to leave Liverpool on a free deal at the end of the season, with reports that the likes of Bayern Munich, PSG, Barcelona and a number of Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in a move.

However – amidst all the speculation and rumours, Carragher believes that Mohamed Salah will extend his stay on Merseyside due to a lack of options elsewhere – he told the Stick to Football Podcast: “How many attackers do Real Madrid have? Barcelona are in dire straits financially, PSG are nowhere near the team Liverpool are – there are only four or five teams that can realistically win the Champions League and Liverpool are one of them.

“He will stay as I’m not sure there are too many options. He’s not ready to go to Saudi – he can do that in three years’ time. Salah is that driven as a footballer to win the record of most goals – or whatever that may be for Liverpool.”

Salah will probably sign that new Liverpool contract, and if he continues to score the goals that he has been, then he will be in a strong position to get the contract offer that he desires.

Many are all interested to see how this plays out, but we may have to wait a few more months before anything is concluded.
