Roma defender Evan Ndicka discussed the team’s preseason preparations as well as the recent links with a potential exit from the club.
In an interview with Siamolaroma.it, Ndicka said, “Of course I see myself staying here. I’m at Roma. There’s no problem with the club. I get along well with everyone, with the team, with the manager, and with his staff.”
“Everything is going well with the staff, the coach, and all the players. We hope to be ready for the start of the new season and do well. So, for now, everything is fine.”
“We already knew the coach because we played against him when he coached Atalanta, an aggressive team. He’s also asking us to be aggressive, to advance and press high. This is his way of making us play.”
“If a coach asks me to play central or on the left, I’ll do what he asks. It’s not a problem for me, it’s the same. I play as a defender, but maybe on the left it’s easier for the first pass because I have space for my left foot. But again, for me it’s the same.”
“Last season? I think we did our best under Ranieri, because we didn’t lose for many games until the one against Atalanta. So if I could change anything, it would be the game we lost in Bergamo. But we also got points in difficult games like the ones against Inter, Fiorentina, and Milan. We had a great second half of the season.”
“The team’s objective must be to do well in the Europa League and try to reach the Champions League.”
