The critically acclaimed HBO miniseries The Staircase is finally available to binge-watch on Netflix three years after it premiered on HBO Max. It is based on the true crime story that was chronicled in Netflix’s viral docuseries of the same name, which consisted of 13 episodes.

The Staircase docuseries originally aired back in 2004 and expanded with 2 episodes in 2013 and three more in 2018. Four years after that, HBO produced the first dramatized portrayal of the high-profile murder trial of American novelist, Michael Peterson, following the death of his wife Kathleen in 2001.

HBO’s version of The Staircase features a stellar cast, led by Oscar winner Colin Firth as Peterson and Emmy winner Toni Collette as his wife Kathleen.
