Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed today…

Sporting CP’s star striker and CHELSEA target Viktor Gyokeres has opened up on whether he is planning to follow manager Ruben Amorim and head to Manchester United in the coming transfer windows.

The Swede, who scored 29 goals in his maiden season, has already notched up 11 in just eight games so far this campaign and there has been alot of speculation in the media that he is one player that clubs may look to sign in the January transfer window.

Gyokeres now heading for exit after Amorim departure?

Gyokeres is one of a number of Sporting CP players who could leave the Portuguese club in the wake of Ruben Amorim’s departure, with Arsenal, Chelsea and United likely to chase the former Coventry striker once again.

O Jogo reports that Gyokeres’ is “dissatisfied” with the decision of the head coach to depart for Manchester United, as the Portuguese boss was one of the main reasons that he stayed in the summer window.

That has led to reports in the media that Gyokeres could follow Amorim to Manchester United in the transfer window, ad the Red Devils need to add a striker to the attack that can actually score on a regular basis.

What has Gyokeres said?

Speaking to reporters, the forward said, “Going with Amorim to Man United? I don’t know, I’m here. As you can see, I enjoy it at Sporting. It’s nothing I think about. I’m sad about him leaving. We wish him all the best.”

Gyokeres Only at Sporting because of Amorim

Amorim’s agent Hasan Cetinkaya revealed in the summer that Gyokeres was only at Sporting because of Amorim, Cetinkaya admitted in an interview with A Bola: “It will be more difficult for Viktor to stay if Ruben Amorim leaves Sporting because Viktor came precisely because of Ruben.

“The day we met, I said to Ruben: ‘Here’s my boy, he came to Sporting because of you.’”

He further added: “There were eight clubs very interested in Viktor last summer [2023].

“They all paid Coventry more than Sporting, they all paid Viktor more, they all paid a higher commission to the agent.

“And I brought him to Sporting because of Ruben Amorim, because I know his work and his work with the players. I chose Ruben because he is a coach at another level.”

Gyokeres and his agent, then, have already shown their cards to Sporting and Arsenal over his future, putting a January transfer very much on the table.

VINICIUS FOR FREE?

It has been claimed that CHELSEA fc are ready to make an offer and try to bring Vinicius Junior to the Premier League as the Brazilian International has reportedly rejected the latest contract offer from Real Madrid.

Why Is Vinicius considering leaving Real Madrid?

After a brilliant season for Real Madrid last season in which he helped the Spaniards to another League title and another Champions League crown – Vinicius had expected to lift the gong, but Man City’s Rodri edged him out, leading to a furious reaction from the forward and Real.

Per a report from AS, the 24-year-old’s entourage are studying options for the future as they feel a number of circumstances are not quite right for the attacker at his current club.

Not only does the Brazilian winger feel unprotected by the referees, but has also had to deal with countless episodes of racial abuse over the years. That, coupled with the Ballon d’Or snub and interest from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League, could see Vinicius seek greener pastures, with his Real Madrid contract expiring in 2027.

Junior has reportedly rejected the latest new contract offer from Real Madrid, according to Fichajes and is ready to run down his contract in order to get whatever move he wants

Vinicius is a world class player, there is no doubt about that, but the way he plays, he would not suit the Premier League and we are sure that he will stay at Real Madrid to prove that he is the best player in the world.

There will be alot of rumours about the player in the coming months – but unless something crazy happens and he gets offered an amount of money that is too good to turn down – Madrid is where he should stay.

However – if he does stay and try to leave on a free contract, there will be alot of clubs interested

OMORODION WANTED

It has been claimed that CHELSEA boss Enzo Maresca is keen for the board to chase striker Samu Omorodion, as he is the kind of striker that the Italian boss would like to have in his squad.

With CHELSEA looking to splash some more cash and try to sign players that will develop in the coming seasons – Omorodion was a player that was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge towards the back-end of the transfer window.

But despite all the rumours and speculation – The 6ft 4in striker eventually joined Porto permanently and since then he has been on fire for the Portuguese outfit, and he is really impressing at the Portuguese giants.

What is the Latest?

While a move for a proven striker like Osimhen might prove popular with Chelsea fans, it is on Samu Omorodion that manager Enzo Maresca is “insisting” that the Blues chase, Fichajes reports.

The 20-year-old has enhanced his reputation greatly since moving to Porto in the summer for €15 million – considerably less than Chelsea were expected to pay – notably shining against Manchester United in a thrilling 3-3 Europa League draw in October.

The Spain under-21 international has recently expressed his relief at not heading to Stamford Bridge – He told RTVE: “I went through a very difficult period, because, after all, everyone knows that I was about to sign [for CHELSEA], but the truth is that it didn’t happen. It was for one reason: God didn’t want it. I’m very happy, very content to be there.

‘The truth is that things are going very well for me and, above all, I want to continue to show what I’m capable of.”

CHELSEA would have been a massive move for the lad to make that is for sure – but the right decision was made as he simply was not ready for a move to the Blues or the Premier League.

Maybe in the future a move to England could happen – but this move to PORTO is really working out for the lad and to be honest – he could develop into a class striker in the coming seasons
