Gyokeres – Rashford – Guehi feature in Man United news now

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you could have missed…

Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre has urged the Red Devils to sign England centre-back Marc Guehi, who is also wanted by a number of Premier League sides going into the January window.

Guehi has been brilliant for Crystal Palace over the past few seasons, his stock in the game has really risen and he is now rated as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and a player that the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea have been linked with signing, for a fee of £60 million.

United have had some defensive issues this transfer window and new boss Ruben Amorim will need the backing of the board in the transfer window to add players that will make a difference to the side, and now they have been told to sign Guehi.

Speaking to Boylesports, Silvestre said, “Marc Guehi should definitely be on Manchester United’s list as a long-term option in defence. He almost went to Newcastle and is shining at Crystal Palace after proving himself to be one of the best defenders for one of the best nations in the world with England.

‘What he is doing at Palace is proving he can be tested and perform week in and week out. I have been really impressed with his performances and I think he’d fit in really well with Ruben Amorim’s style of play.

‘He is not shy of playing vertical passes and is always alert, he is strong, wins his duels and is good one on one, he’d fit in well at United.”

Guehi is ready for that next step in his career and he needs to join a bug club, Man United may not be the force that they once were, but they are certainly a side that he should join.

He could be a great signing for Manchester United that is for sure.

UNITED TO SELL RASHFORD

Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United could be nearing its end as the Red Devils welcome offers for the ‘distracted’ forward, which will alert the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to a potential deal for the England star.

Rashford has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons again this season and looks nothing like the player that netted 30 goals for United  just a few seasons ago.

He really struggled last season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for United, which is not good enough for a player of his ability and quality when he is on top of his game.

Now, According to the Telegraph, United started welcoming bids for the 27-year-old last summer following a drastic loss of form, and are ready to let him leave the club when the January window opens up next month.

Premier League clubs were heavily linked with a move for Rashford in the summer window, but opted to not make a move for the winger as he would have cost far too much money.

A few seasons ago Rashford had the world at his feet, he was well on his way to becoming one of the very best footballers in the world, but that has all changed now and he looks like a player that is not interested in football.

If the reports are true and Manchester United are willing to let the star leave the club, then maybe it is the best thing for him as he needs a change, it is not working at Old Trafford.

There will be many fans that will be sad to see him go, but as we said, he looks nothing like the player that could bang in 30 goals.

GYOKERES BOOST

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of the transfer race to sign Sporting CP sensation Viktor Gyokeres, which will have given a boost to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, who are all chasing the big striker.

Gyokeres has once again been in tremendous form for Sporting Lisbon this season and already has 23 goals to his name, with four of those coming in the Champions League against Defending champions Manchester City.

He has been heavily tipped with a move to the Premier League, with many believing that he could follow Ruben Amorim to Man United, while it has been claimed that Arsenal are very much interested as they seek to add a 30 goals a season striker to their attack.

However, according to recent reports, Manchester United are prepared to pay up to £75m for the striker in January, and they go on to say that the idea would be for him to not actually join up with the squad until the end of the season.

Now the Red Devils have been handed a transfer boost, as Per Foot Mercato, Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly pulled out of the transfer race to sign Sporting CP sensation Viktor Gyokeres.

The report says that the Ligue 1 champions were at one point keen on signing the striker and their sporting director Luis Campos reportedly contacted the player’s representatives to get ahead in the title race.

However, once Campos came back to Paris and got in touch with manager Luis Enrique, the Spanish coach rejected the idea of signing the striker.

When Gyokeres decides to leave Lisbon and make that next step in his career, it seems that he will have a few clubs to choose from and the decision will come down to him, and or course, money.

PSG are massive spenders, so if the reports are true and they have pulled out of the race, it will be great news for chasing clubs that is for sure.
