Garnacho – Girma – Veiga feature in Chelsea news now

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed today…

According to ESPN, Alejandro Garnacho’s preference would be a move to CHELSEA should he be forced to leave Manchester United over the next couple of days of the transfer window.

The transfer window has been open for a few weeks now but there has not been much action as clubs make sure that they stick to the Financial Fair Play rules, but that has not stopped speculation.

Chelsea were expected to add a bit more quality to that attack this transfer window, with many believing that a new striker was something that Enzo Maresca wanted to add to his side by February 3rd.

But it seems that Garnacho is a man that Chelsea are very interested in signing before the close of the transfer window next week, and according to reports, Garnacho would like to make the move to the Blues should he be forced to leave Man United.

United boss Ruben Amorim has refused to rule out a move away from Old Trafford over the coming days. He said: “I don’t know what will happen. Let’s focus on the team and the players that we have here. We don’t know what can happen until the window closes. Anything can happen.”

He added: “I’m focused on the games and he’s [Garnacho] here, he’s a player for Manchester United. Was really important for us today and let’s see in the next days. I think he’s improving in every aspect of the game. He was better today playing inside, also outside, changing positions, he’s improving the recovering position.

“You can see it until 90 minutes he’s always there recovering and helping, sometimes showing some frustration and that is good because he wants more. I think he has potential to be so much better in every situation in the game.

“What I can say is he understood what I was trying to do, was really clear, I just want to help them but in the end it’s them that do the job.”

GIRMA EXCITED ABOUT MOVE

American defender Naomi Girma has opened up and revealed that she is very excited after it was confirmed this week she has now joined CHELSEA.

The 24-year-old American international has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal, after the decision was made by the Blues board that a new defender needed to be brought to Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the season.

And By joining Chelsea, Girma will become the first Ethiopian player to feature in the Women’s Super League, something that has he very excited about: ‘It means a lot,’ she told the club website. ‘My parents came to the U.S and didn’t have anything when they arrived.

‘For me to be born there, to have the opportunity to grow up there and now play soccer at this level, it’s something I know they never dreamed of. I also didn’t dream of it because I didn’t know it was even possible!

‘It’s really cool for me to be playing in the U.S and now overseas. It shows young girls that you can do this too. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a traditional background or where you came from, you can follow your dreams and pursue your passions.

‘As a child of immigrants, a lot of times, it doesn’t feel like that. I’m hoping maybe I can inspire others, whether that is in sports or other things.’

‘My dad is really proud and very excited,’ our newest recruit says. ‘Above everything, he just wants me to be happy and wants me to be somewhere where I’m excited to go and live and play.

CHELSEA just has everything. My dad and my family are all just excited that I have this opportunity.’

CHELSEA ANNOUNCE VEIGA DEAL

CHELSEA have officially confirmed that defender Renato Veiga has joined Italian giants Juventus on loan until the end of the season.

Veiga joined Chelsea in a £12 million deal from Swiss side Basel last summer but he has been unable to secure a regular role in the team under Enzo Maresca,  the 21-year-old barely played any minutes in the Premier League and the majority of his playing time has been in the Conference League.

The Blues posted on the clubs website: Chelsea defender Renato Veiga will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Serie A side Juventus.

‘Veiga joined the Blues in July from FC Basel and made 18 appearances in all competitions this season.

‘We look forward to supporting his development throughout the loan.

‘Good luck, Renato!’

IcFootballnews View…

Veiga has been decent for the Blues this season and many fans believed that he had the potential to take his game to that next level and become a top top player for Chelsea, so the news that he has now left on loan will be a massive shock for many fans to take.

However – he wants to play on a regular basis and not just in cup competitions, so it is easy to see why he wanted to leave Chelsea this January in search for game time, and to be honest, Juventus is a great move for the lad.

We have seen in recent seasons that Seria A is a great place to develop and many talents are going there to get the minutes that they desire, so even though his CHELSEA dream could be over, this move will probably be the best decision for the lad to make.

If he impresses enough at Juventus, we are sure that a move will be made to make the deal more permanent.
