Gal Gadot Is Only The Real Evil Queen In Snow White For One Minute

Gal Gadot Is Only The Real Evil Queen In Snow White For One Minute

Snow White was Disney’s latest attempt at a live-action remake of one of their classic properties, and, unfortunately for the company, this most recent film appears to have backfired in a pretty significant way. This film was always going to be a hard sell, and since its release a few weeks ago, Snow White‘s reviews have only solidified the movie’s place as one of the company’s biggest flops in recent memory. One of the biggest points of contention with Snow White was its cast, with a big part of that being Gal Gadot’s inclusion as the Evil Queen.

While Snow White is a classic Disney film, it doesn’t tend to have the same modern cultural relevance that a lot of Disney’s other works from around the renaissance and modern eras. However, the film is still absolutely one of Disney’s best-known works, as it was responsible for its continued existence as a studio. While Snow White‘s story remained fairly consistent with the original, there were plenty of changes made to the modern adaptation, some for the better, and some for the worse.

Gal Gadot Only Wears The Evil Queen’s Animated Costume Briefly During Snow White

Only One Scene Has The Evil Queen’s Classic Outfit

Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen in Snow White remained relatively similar to her animated counterpart, but one big difference between the two versions was the costuming of the character. The Evil Queen in the original film had a very consistent outfit throughout the movie, with a purple dress, black cloak, and the red clasp that held up her hood. Comparatively, Gal Gadot’s Queen wears a number of different outfits throughout the remake, and only brings out the classic outfit for a single scene.

The costume looks like a fairly accurate representation, translating the animated character quite well, so the fact that it was only in one scene was definitely a bit of a disappointment.

That scene is during Gal Gadot’s controversial new villain song, “All is Fair,” which arrives after she discovers that Snow White is alive, and the Huntsman betrayed her. She brings out her classic outfit for the piece, though it is slightly altered with a different clasp and a more bejeweled dress. Despite the minor changes, the costume looks like a fairly accurate representation, translating the animated character quite well, so the fact that it was only in one scene was definitely a bit of a disappointment.

Why Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen Costume Is So Different In Snow White

The Remake Made A Few Changes To The Queen

One of the big changes that the Snow White remake made was that it tried to make the Evil Queen more of a well-rounded character, as opposed to the simple antagonist that she was in the original. How successful they were is certainly a point of debate, but she had a lot more screen time, meaning that she would need multiple costumes in order to feel more fresh throughout the film. Her wardrobe also showcases her love of jewels, as the live-action Snow White costume is covered in diamonds and gems.
