Barcelona’s injury list continues to shrink. Robert Lewandowski returned to training on Monday, while Joan Garcia is also expected to make a swift recovery and become available soon.
Now, there is more good news on the injury front for the Blaugrana, as one of the club’s most promising young talents is closing on a return.
Guille Fernandez on the verge of fully recovery
Indeed, SPORT reports that Guille Fernandez is also nearing his comeback following an ankle injury.
The 17-year-old La Masia gem, a regular presence in first-team sessions, picked up the knock on September 13 during Barça Atletic’s match against Andratx.
A poor pitch condition contributed to the injury, with the uneven surface causing a bad twist in Guille’s ankle – an issue that the reserve side faces frequently this season due to subpar playing fields across Segunda RFEF.
It has been around six weeks since that setback, and after recently completing individual drills on the grass, Guille is expected to rejoin group training this week.

Guille’s recovery has progressed even better than anticipated, with the club ensuring he takes every step without rushing.
Flick & Co. watching closely
If his progress continues smoothly, he could be ready for selection this weekend, either with Hansi Flick’s first team (given the absences of Dani Olmo and Pedri) or with Barça Atletic.
The young midfielder completed the full pre-season under Flick, travelled on the team’s Asian tour, and even made his first-team debut in Korea.
He remained in first-team training afterwards, was called up for the opening match away to Mallorca, and then played a couple of games for Barça Atletic before suffering the injury.
Flick and his staff have closely monitored his rehabilitation alongside the club’s physios and fitness coaches.
Given the current midfield shortages, Guille could have another chance to feature with the senior squad once fit.
