As fans everywhere celebrate the theatrical release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps today, the MCU flick is already dominating the Disney+ streaming charts thanks to a new preview that was recently released on the platform. Titled The Fantastic Four: First Steps | A Special Look, the 5-minute short has managed to shoot up to the #1 position in the Top 10, overtaking the likes of the entire Z-O-M-B-I-E-S franchise, Snow White, and Captain America: Brave New World.
Hosted by Mark Gatiss’ character of popular talk show host Ted Gilbert, The Fantastic Four: First Steps preview is a primer of sorts for those who might not be familiar with Marvel’s first family, or for those looking to glean a little info about what they can expect from the movie before heading out to theaters. It shows Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben suiting up for their trip into space, and features audio of them encountering the cosmic storm that altered their DNA, and the course of history. We also see the after effects of them battling the Mad Thinker and Red Ghost and his Super-Apes, and the appearance of Silver Surfer and Galactus.

There are tons of retro vibes that will have your nostalgic heart pounding, including rounded billboards, a classic 7-Up logo, sleek and sexy flying cars, and, of course, all the wool suits you can shake a sheep at. It’s basically a 5-minute trailer, but it definitely does its job of hyping up fans for the actual movie.
Fans Are Already in Love With ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’
Hitting theaters today, July 25, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the first film in Phase 6 of the MCU, and the 37th movie overall since Iron Man kicked things off in 2008. It’s expected to gross anywhere from $190 to $210 million worldwide this weekend, and based on its Rotten Tomatoes audience score, fans are digging what Disney is selling. Verified Hot with a 92% rating, many are claiming that “Marvel is finally back,” and that it exceeded all the expectations they had going in. As Rotten Tomatoes user Parth G wrote:
“Worth the wait. It honestly exceeded my expectations. The comic-accuracy, the vfx, the score, romance, fighting and especially our dear Silver Surfer. Julia Garner killed it. And Ralph Ineson as Galatcus was the perfect casting. The post-credit scene had my entire theater screaming. Pedro did an amazing job as Reed, Vanessa was a beautiful soul as Sue, Joseph was very goofy as Johnny, and Ebon was rocked as The Thing! Marvel is finally cooking again with movies.”
Thankfully, this won’t be the last we see of the famous family, as Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn will all be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), and a sequel to First Steps is also now in the works. Until we get there, though, you can check out The Fantastic Four: First Steps | A Special Preview on Disney+, and the full MCU flick playing now in theaters everywhere.
