Beloved Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves’ dog-loving hitman John Wick may be no more, but it looks like another action movie will arrive this year and leave the bullet-shaped hole that Baba Yaga left behind. Aside from the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, that is. Hailing from India, a new trailer for the Hindi-language action thriller Fateh teases all manner of gripping fist fights, explosive shoot-outs, and brutal violence that fans of the genre could ever want, with the movie telling another classic tale of a mysterious man with a dark past who must once again call on his particular set of skills.
Bollywood star and renowned humanitarian Sonu Sood
makes his directorial debut with Fateh. And what a debut it is. Boasting bloody violence amid a simple story of revenge, Fateh sees Sonu Sood play the lead role as well as helm the project, with the rest of the cast comprised of Jacqueline Fernandez (Kill Em All 2), Vijay Raaz (Monsoon Wedding), Naseeruddin Shah (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), and Dibyendu Bhattacharya (Criminal Justice). Fateh is due to hit theaters in India on January 10, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

Sonu Sood Promises the “Ultimate Showdown Between the Real and the Virtual” in ‘Fateh’
Sonu Sood, meanwhile, has teased what audiences can expect from Fateh beyond the cutting-edge action. According to the filmmaker and star, the movie is really about the “dark forces of the cyber world” with the movie culminating in the “ultimate showdown between the real and the virtual.” Via Variety:
“The love I’ve received from the audience over the years is extraordinary. It’s that love I’m counting on as the teaser of ‘Fateh’ finally drops. This film is incredibly special to me – not only because it marks my debut as a director but also because it is a voice against the alarming threat that many of us underestimate. As for Keanu Reeves’ Baba Yaga, John Wick is now one of the most successful action franchises of all time. While the main storyline recently wrapped up with John Wick: Chapter 4, and any updates about John Wick 5 aren’t exactly promising, things are set to expand exponentially, with an anime series, a TV show, and several spin-offs now in the works. The first official spin-off, From the World of John Wick: Ballerina, is coming next year, and finds Ana de Armas leading the fight as a fledgling assassin who embarks on her own quest for revenge.
