Marvel Television has kicked off the year with the release of Wonder Man. The latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has received positive reviews from critics, kicking off what hopefully will be a big year for the MCU. Marvel Television might not get the attention of Marvel Studios, but the television side of the company has always been important for getting the heroes out into the public spotlight.
Before the MCU even existed, early television series like The Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and the 90s X-Men: The Animated Series made Marvel heroes household names. While the MCU feature film slate is tight, focusing mainly on big names like Spider-Man and The Avengers, across live-action and animation, the television side will have plenty to entertain fans while also providing new points of entry for new audiences. From Daredevil to the X-Men and various versions of Spider-Man, these are all the Marvel television programs confirmed to be released or in development in 2026 and beyond.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 (Mar. 24, 2026)
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will focus on Matt Murdock / Daredevil (Charlie Cox) gathering allies to take on corrupt New York Mayor, Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). One of these allies includes Matt’s former Defender Jessica Jones, with Krysten Ritter reprising the iconic detective seven years after her series concluded. The upcoming season sees Daredevil suiting up in a red and black suit similar to the outfit he wore in the Shadowlands arc from the comics, and will finally sport the character’s logo.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is set to debut on Disney+ just a little over a year from when Season 1 aired, and nearly ten years to the date that Daredevil: Season 2 premiered. The series is expected to closely tie in with the upcoming Punisher Special Presentation and may have some minor connections to Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will consist of eight episodes. The season is expected to conclude on either May 5 (if the series debuts with two episodes) or May 12, 2026.
‘X-Men ’97’ Season 2 (Summer 2026)
X-Men ’97 Season 2 has become one of the most anticipated Marvel television series, given how positively received the first season of the revival was, and it is still the highest-rated Marvel title on Rotten Tomatoes. X-Men ’97 Season 2 looks to pick up where Season 2 concluded, with the X-Men stranded across different points in time, but all connected by the mutant Apocalypse. The upcoming season will feature elements from the 2000s-era X-Men comics, including Danger from Joss Whedon and John Cassidy’s Astonishing X-Men run, and the New X-Men costumes from Grant Morrison’s run, designed by Frank Quietly.
No release date is set for X-Men ’97 Season 2. At New York Comic-Con, it was confirmed that the season would debut in mid-2026. With Daredevil Season 2 concluding in early May 2026, Marvel Television will likely not release X-Men immediately after for Memorial Day weekend. The most likely release window is mid-June, as they did with Ironheart (Jun. 24, 2025), Secret Invasion (Jun. 21, 2023), Ms. Marvel (Jun. 8, 2022), and Loki Season 1 (Jun. 9, 2021).
‘The Punisher’ Special Presentation (2026)
Before Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 premiered and Jon Bernthal made his MCU return, it was confirmed that The Punisher would star in his own Marvel Special Presentation, similar to Werewolf by Night or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. The special will be directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who directed King Richard and Bob Marley: One Love. The Punisher Special Presentation will be rated TV-MA and will be set alongside the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, explaining why The Punisher is not in the sophomore season.
The Punisher Special Presentation has no set release date. It has previously been reported that it would debut in mid-2026. With the special taking place during the events of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, but before The Punisher appears in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it is likely the special will air between May and July. It could premiere in early June, possibly between the ending of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and the debut of X-Men ’97 Season 2. That gives The Punisher the spotlight for one month and serves as a bit of a preview for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
‘VisionQuest’ (Fall 2026)
VisionQuest is the third chapter in a mini-trilogy of stories that began in WandaVision and continued in Agatha All Along. VisionQuest is set to follow Vision (Paul Bettany) as he looks to regain his memories following the events of WandaVision. Terry Matalas, who was previously the showrunner on Star Trek: Picard, is taking over from WandaVision and Agatha All Along creator Jac Schaeffer. VisionQuest is set to debut in Fall 2026, possibly in the October release window alongside Loki Season 2 and Agatha All Along.
The series will explore the legacy of Tony Stark’s A.I. creations as Vision’s family, with James Spader reprising his role as Ultron. T’Nia Miller will play Jocasta, who was previously hinted at in Age of Ultron. Schitt’s Creek‘s Emily Hampshire will play the personification of E.D.I.T.H., the A.I. defense system from Spider-Man: Far From Home. Orla Bradly will play F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark’s AI interface after J.A.R.V.S. became Vision. Orla Bradley and Herny Lewis will play D.U.M.E. and U, Tony Stark’s robotic assistant, in his garage. James D’Arcy will also reprise his role as the human Edwin Jarvis, having previously played the role in Agent Carter and Avengers: Endgame. The series will also introduce Tommy Sheppard, the vessel for Tommy Maximoff’s soul and future Young Avenger Speed, played by Ruaridh Mollica.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 2 (Fall 2026)
After the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the summer, fans looking for more Spider-Man will be in luck as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 will air on Disney+ sometime in late Fall 2026. The animated series takes place in an alternate reality that has echoes of the MCU, but stands on its own, as Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider and has an entirely different group of friends and a mentor, Norman Osborn.
Season 2 is set to introduce Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman into the series and will feature a version of Venom after teasing the symbiote in Season 1. The season will also see Charlie Cox reprise his role as Matt Murdock / Daredevil and will feature Spider-Man villains like Doc Ock, Scorpion, and Chameleon returning for Season 2. Nico Minoru, a member of the Runaways who is now Peter Parker’s friend, will also tap into her magical abilities. With how Season 1 put fun new spins on classic Marvel heroes and villains, there are a lot of exciting places for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man 2 to go.
Spider-Noir (2026)
Spider-Noir is the most interesting of the upcoming Marvel television series. It is the only one not set to debut on Disney+, as it is a Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM co-production that will air instead on MGM+. It also isn’t connected to the larger MCU; it is part of Sony’s Spider-Verse, not specifically the Spider-Verse film franchise. However, to make matters confusing, the title Spider-Man will be played by Nicolas Cage, who previously played Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Yet here he is playing a different Spider-Man variant, this one going by the name Ben Reilly.
Spider-Noir will be a period piece set in the 1930s, with Ben Reily/Spider-Noir, a down-on-his-luck private eye who is the only superhero in this universe. The series cast includes Lamorne Morris (New Girl), Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin), Li Jun Li (Sinners), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), and Lukas Haas (Witness). The series will consist of eight episodes and be released in both black-and-white and color. No specific release window is available yet.
‘Spidey and His Amazing Friends’ (Ongoing)
For a much younger Marvel crowd, Spidey and His Amazing Friends has been a great introduction to the world of Marvel Comics. The series, which debuted in August 2021, revolves around Peter Parker / Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy / Ghost Spider, and Miles Morales / Spin. The series is currently airing the final episodes of its fourth season on Disney Jr. before being released on Disney+. The series has already been confirmed to return for Season 5 and 6, meaning that Spidey and His Amazing Friends will be around at least until 2027 to 2028. The series will air a special Halloween-themed crossover with Iron Man and His Awesome Friends in October 2026.
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 3-2027
While the future of Marvel television beyond Vision Quest is unclear, fans at least know they will get more seasons of Daredevil: Born Again in the Multiverse Saga. Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 was renewed in September 2025, with filming expected to begin in early 2026. No release date has been set, but if it follows the release pattern of the previous two seasons, Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 will air in March 2027.
‘X-Men ’97’ and ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 3-TBD 2027
Both X-Men ’97 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man have been confirmed to be returning for their own respective third seasons. X-Men ’97 Season 3 was confirmed in May 2024, while Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 3 was confirmed in January 2025. Both series, Season 3, are expected to return in 2027, as Marvel Animation aims for a yearly release schedule for its animated series.
