Every TV Show Leaving Netflix in February 2025

2025 is in full swing, and the end of a month brings both a new one and yet another shakeup in the Netflix library. As the service that arguably paved the way for the streaming wars that have defined modern pop culture, Netflix made a name for itself by offering something for seemingly everybody.

As such, whether you’re a child (or a brony), a fan of Korean television, or you just want a silly sitcom to unwind with, we’re rounding up the best shows leaving Netflix over the course of February. Buckle up and schedule your binging — this may be your last chance to stream these series for a while.

‘My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic’ (Seasons 1-4)

Leaving Netflix on February 1

For years, onlookers believed that children’s cartoons based on toy lines were a phenomenon exclusive to the ‘80s, but My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic proved them all dead wrong. As developed by Lauren Faust, a former writer on The Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, the show follows the adventures of Twilight Sparkle and her friends Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy. Throughout the series, they go on a series of adventures throughout the kingdom of Equestria while learning important lessons about friendship.

While no one ever expected much from Friendship is Magic, considering its franchise had been dormant for years, it became an unexpected smash hit upon its debut in 2010, ultimately running for nine seasons. Perhaps most (in)famously, the show got a huge following of older male viewers, who were nicknamed “bronies.” Unfortunately for the Bronies, the first four seasons will no longer be available on Netflix in February. The last day to stream seasons 1-4 of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is February 1.

‘Prison Playbook’

Leaving Netflix on February 1

Park Hae-soo, AKA beloved Squid Game supporting player Cho Sang-woo, made his acting debut in 2017’s Prison Playbook, which became one of the highest-rated cable series in Korean history. The show explored the lives of imprisoned convicts, the families they left behind, and the correctional officers tasked with upholding an unjust system. Hae-soo plays series protagonist Kim Je-hyuk, a former baseball pitcher charged with assault after defending his sister from a sexual assault.

Every Original TV Series Coming to Netflix in February 2025

As viewers wait for some of their favorite shows to return to Netflix, they’ll be able to tide themselves over with next month’s latest originals.

Through its vast canvas of characters, Prison Playbook is able to explore relevant topics in contemporary Japan, specifically class inequality, political corruption, and systemic abuse. However, it’s not all doom and gloom, as it unfolds as a slice-of-life drama, with moments of brief comedic relief to add necessary levity. But it’s Hae-soo who holds it all together, and his work here shows that it’s no wonder he got recognized on the global stage. The last day to stream Prison Playbook is February 1.

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ (Seasons 1-2)

Leaving Netflix on February 25

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, created by Dan Goor and The Good Place mastermind Michael Schur, was one of the most widely beloved sitcoms of the 2010s, airing eight seasons, first on Fox and later on NBC. The show, set in the fictional 99th Precinct of the New York Police Department, focuses on a team of detectives, including the immature Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), the dry-witted Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), and comically stoic captain Raymond Holt (the late, great Andre Braugher).

Currently, only the first four seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine are available to stream on Netflix, with the fifth and sixth seasons joining the platform on February 25. But for reasons unknown, the first two seasons will be leaving the very same day. As such, any fans of the Nine-Nine looking to revisit the original Halloween heists or the origins of Jake’s frenemy relationship with the Pontiac Bandit had best get to it soon (unless you have a Peacock subscription, in which case you’ll have access to all eight seasons). The last day to stream seasons 1-2 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is February 25.

‘The Mindy Project’ (Seasons 1-6)

Leaving Netflix on February 28

As evidenced by the title, The Mindy Project was created and brought to life by Mindy Kaling (of The Office fame), first debuting on Fox in 2012 before finishing out its six-season run on Hulu. The show follows gynecologist Dr. Mindy Lahiri (who was loosely based off of Kaling’s mother), as she tries to balance her professional and personal relationships at her medical job. The eclectic cast includes Ike Barinholtz as a quirky nurse and ex-con, Chris Messina as Mindy’s best friend and love interest, and Ed Weeks as a British physician.

Netflix’s ‘The Night Agent’ Could Make Major Change in Future Seasons

The action could prove to be too much for Gabriel Basso’s FBI agent Peter Sutherland.

The Mindy Project received an initially positive reception that saw growing acclaim with each passing season, though it remains polarizing among audiences, specifically because Kaling’s character of Indian descent dates exclusively white men. Regardless, it’s still an immensely charming romcom series, and Kaling’s fans have until the end of February to revisit it on Netflix. The last day to stream all six seasons of The Mindy Project is February 28.
