Despite taking over Goodison Park as their home base, Everton Women are playing their Manchester United counterparts at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday.

Alas, no; diligent research by The Echo in the above-linked article has revealed the answer. It’s because WSL rules state that at least one match per season must be played at the club’s nominated main stadium. So, even though Everton have handed over their old main stadium for the past 133 years to the women’s team, they are still required to step out at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
What better time to provide an opportunity or a host of Evertonians to go and watch the women as well as experience the wonders of the new stadium than an International Break for the men’s team?
If you can’t make it to be part of the huge crowd expected at Everton’s new stadium tomorrow, you can watch it on Sky Sports, kick-off at 12 pm.

Is there a reason why they are playing at Hill Dick (was it the dick that got them interested), or is Goodison Park not playable due to the work going on?

WSL rules dictate that all teams associated with a men’s senior team must play at least 1 match per season at the men’s stadium.
