Enzo Maresca’s no nonsense stance is much more suited to Chelsea

Enzo Maresca is showing that he can be bold and brave to make some MASSIVE changes in-game when things aren’t going well. I do like that about him.

He is making cut-throat calls and he is not afraid to bring any player off the pitch who he feels is not doing enough. This might seem harsh to some, but it is very much needed and I back it. There is NO room for error under Maresca, and he is showing that he is laying down that law now and there is no excuse for any player to not put in 100% effort and to not be fully switched on all game. If you’re not at the races, then you will sit on the bench. I like that way of operating.

Granted, we have injuries at the moment, but we do have a big squad and Maresca can afford to drop you if you’re not pulling your weight. There is always someone else who wants your position and is ready to step up if you’re not. This is a great stance to have.

I don’t think we’ve always seen this from Maresca but he is now growing in stature, confidence, and he is using more discipline and making no nonsense calls.

Making THREE changes at half time yesterday was a massive risk and a massive call. But he did it, and it changed the game. So massive plaudits to him for that.

I always like to be balanced on this site as I say, and I find it just as important to compliment and praise for things like this as I do to analyse and constructively criticise, which I have often done and will continue doing with Maresca, any player, director, or owner that I feel I need to speak on.

So be warned Chelsea players, if you are ghosting a game or have yet to turn up in it, you best be ready to go warm the bench instead. Maresca isn’t taking any nonsense and I’m here for it!
