There is already a significant number of returning Marvel stars for 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday, but some of the more obscure credits for the upcoming crossover movie suggest that up to three more characters could be coming back to the franchise. Although the Avengers: Doomsday cast is already incredibly stacked, the multiversal storyline means there is plenty of room for further comeback announcements. While some haven’t been confirmed, there are certain clues to suggest their presence in the fifth Avengers movie.
March 2025 saw most of the Avengers: Doomsday cast announced via a multi-hour YouTube live stream, but hype surrounding the movie has recently been refreshed by the various teaser trailers that Disney is drip-feeding to fans. They’ve been made available first to those going to see Avatar: Fire and Ash, but have gradually been making their way online via leaks and official channels. However, while most of the fan base is focused on the return of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), and the X-Men, Doomsday may be quietly setting up more character comebacks.
IMDb’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Page Credits Three Oscar Isaac Stunt Doubles
Oscar Isaac has an impressive three characters in the Marvel universe. Originally known for playing the titular villain in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, he also went on to lead the Moon Knight cast in 2022, and also voiced Spider-Man 2099/Miguel O’Hara in 2023’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. At present, Oscar Isaac hasn’t been announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday‘s ensemble, but three figures credited as the actor’s stunt doubles are present on the movie’s IMDb page.
The credited stunt doubles in question are Jamel Blissat, Attila Kosztor, and Darren Nop. While it’s far from unusual for an actor to have stunt doubles, it is much stranger that the named trio seems to be part of the production when Oscar Isaac currently has no official connection to Doomsday. The most exciting possibility is that Isaac is indeed coming back as Apocalypse, Moon Knight, or even bringing his Spider-Man 2099 into the world of live-action. That said, this is just conjecture. Even if Isaac does return, it’s more likely he’ll be playing one character more than the others.
All Signs Point Toward Moon Knight as Oscar Isaac’s Most Likely ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Role
Blissat, Kosztor, and Nop have all previously worked on other Marvel projects. However, only Moon Knight has all three of them credited as stunt doubles. So, although Apocalypse and Spider-Man 2099 remain possibilities for Isaac if he returns for Doomsday, the evidence is far more substantial to support the theory that he’s set to make a comeback as Khonshu’s mystical avatar from the Disney+ series. With many fans hailing Moon Knight as one of the best MCU TV shows, there would certainly be a desire to see Isaac reprise this role in particular.
Oscar Isaac also voiced a Moon Knight variant in a 2024 episode of What If…?
Isaac’s Moon Knight character(s) are brilliantly written, and each version of the show’s protagonist is performed immaculately by the actor in a way that makes all his personalities distinct from each other. A supporting role in an Avengers movie is arguably not sufficient to explore Moon Knight‘s title figure(s), but having him come back at all would be very welcome. On the other hand, the recent X-Men reveal also opens the door for Isaac to come back as Apocalypse in a relatively organic way. Sadly, a live-action Miguel O’Hara debut is probably a little too much to hope for.
What Stands in the Way of Oscar Isaac’s Presence in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel has belonged to Disney since 2009, and without that purchase, the MCU probably wouldn’t have grown to the size it has. However, because Disney has such a diverse portfolio, controversies connected to any of the company’s various properties often run the risk of backlash across the board. This is what happened in September 2025, when ABC – a Disney-owned company – paused production on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and suspended its host. The decision came after Kimmel commented on the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Many figures in Hollywood were outraged by Disney’s decision, considering it in opposition to free speech. Oscar Isaac was among the disgruntled masses who helped Kimmel retain his position, but the Moon Knight actor has since voiced concerns about working with Disney again after what happened. When asked if he’d ever return to reprise his role in Star Wars – another Disney property – Isaac said he would be open to the idea if Disney could: “figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism.” The interview was conducted after Doomsday wrapped.
While Isaac’s return anytime soon doesn’t look entirely promising, it wouldn’t be the first time a Marvel actor has intentionally misled fans in order to surprise them with their presence in a movie. On the other hand, when things like the Jimmy Kimmel situation are involved, superhero movies tend to take less priority. However, the presence of the three Moon Knight stunt doubles among the Doomsday cast is tricky to ignore. Even if Isaac doesn’t return, perhaps there is a plan for Isaac’s character to appear in the movie, never remove his mask, and have him physically portrayed by Blissat, Kosztor, and Nop during key action sequences. Of course, Isaac also teased a return for Avengers: Doomsday himself in July 2025, so it’s anyone’s guess at this point.
