August 8 – Disney+ and Premier Sports have announced a three-year broadcast deal in the UK and Ireland.
As the primary live broadcaster, Premier Sports is taking the lead role, showing over 340 La Liga matches per season across linear platforms including Sky, Virgin Media, and Prime Video Channels.
Meanwhile, Disney+ has secured the prized late Saturday kick-off fixtures, which they will stream to the UK and Ireland. These matches typically start in prime time at 8:30pm BST and will be available as part of the standard Disney+ subscription with no additional fees.
La Liga President Javier Tebas noted that the deal marks a “new era” in Spanish football as the league’s reach will increase through both traditional and digital-first platforms.
A new digital clip licensing deal was also announced. These clips will include goals, highlights, and the all-important viral moments that drive traffic targeting an audience that typically skews younger.
The 2025/26 season begins on Friday, August 15, with live coverage beginning with Girona FC v Rayo Vallecano (6:00pm) on Premier Sports
RCD Mallorca v FC Barcelona and Real Madrid v CA Osasuna will also be aired on Premier Sports.
