The newest team set to join the NWSL has unveiled their team crest. Denver Summit FC dropped their new logo yesterday with a video announcement and full description of the significance of the design elements.
The crest includes references to Denver and the Rocky Mountains where the team will call home starting in the 2026 season. It has a red sky for spectacular sunsets and famous red rock sandstone formations. The team noted that, “the sun stands for the energy, optimism, and sense of possibility that comes with life in Colorado.” While the mountains seem fairly obvious, they include an Easter Egg in that they are angled at 26 degrees in honor of the inaugural 2026 Denver Summit FC season.
For the team name itself, the club noted that Summit was an overwhelming favorite when fans were polled about what to call the new side. The team has been building hype and fan engagement is a key strategy ahead of its first NWSL season.
The team is also making waves in the city as it is building the first sports venue for a women’s professional team in Denver. The stadium is set to open in 2028 and seat 14,500 fans. Its crest is the latest in an effort to create a unique identity and experience for a women’s sports team in Denver and soon it will begin filling in the players and staff to carry that vision forward into 2026.
