DC has revealed the new look at Killer Croc in Batman‘s next release as part of its trailer, and the villain looks just like we expected him to. Killer Croc is a villain who has yet to truly shine in Batman adaptations. The character was part of the DCEU movie timeline, appearing in live-action in 2016’s divisive Suicide Squad movie.
In animation, Killer Croc has appeared in quite a few projects, revealing different sides of the character, though there continues to be a lack of a main role for him. Now, Batman’s upcoming TV show could change that. The Dark Knight is coming back in 2025, and the new DC series will feature Killer Croc going up against the hero.
DC Has Revealed What Bat-Fam’s Killer Croc Looks Like
The first trailer of Bat-Fam has been released ahead of the show’s debut on Prime Video on November 10. The animated series explores a fresh take on the Bat-Family concept from DC Comics, one that replaces key heroes with reformed villains. Gone are characters like Nightwing and Batgirl, with Ra’s al Ghul, Man-Bat, and Volcana joining the animated Bat-Fam.
Killer Croc will appear in DC’s new Batman TV show, but he will not have the same role as the aforementioned villains. Instead, Killer Croc is not reformed, being seen fighting Batman in the Bat-Fam trailer. Killer Croc is one of the villains trying to steal something out of a Wayne Enterprises storage, working with Clayface, Solomon Grundy, Mad Hatter, and Livewire.
We only see Killer Croc for a quick moment in the Bat-Fam trailer, but it is enough to showcase his design. Killer Croc has green skin, red eyes, pronounced scales, several sharp teeth, and is a hulking figure. Despite all of that, Batman seems to be winning in their fight, judging by how the Dark Knight smacks Killer Croc in the face.
How Bat-Fam’s Killer Croc Compares To Other Versions Of The Batman Villain?
Killer Croc has had a few distinct looks in animated adaptations. For instance, in the seminal Batman: The Animated Series, Killer Croc did not have his signature green skin, but rather a pale gray tone. He also looks more human-like than reptilian. In The New Batman Adventures, he had green skin, but the scales were not as pronounced as those in Bat-Fam.
Most other animated versions of Killer Croc vary between those two color schemes for his skin, with some humanoid, some bulkier, and some even a full-on reptile. In live-action, Suicide Squad‘s Killer Croc looked like a bulky, gray human with scales. As such, Bat-Fam‘s version of Killer Croc is more exciting, being perfectly stylized for the animated series.
