Daryl Dixon season 3, episode 6 laid the groundwork for Daryl’s last-ditch effort to save Justina from El Alcázar, having failed to resuce her and other young girls in the group’s clutches.

As for Carol, she’s grown increasingly close to Antonio, the pair sharing a kiss near the end of episode 6. However, his conflict with Fede has grown, with Solaz del Mar’s leader trying to poison his son, Roberto, after learning he tried to rescue Justina. Carol is seemingly leaving town, but the trouble Antonio’s about to be in means she won’t be gone for long.

This is confirmed in Daryl Dixon season 3, episode 7’s trailer, released by AMC. Daryl can be seen infiltrating an event hosted by El Alcázar, fighting humans and Walkers alike in his most desperate rescue attempt. In the meantime, Carol and Roberto are trying to save Antonio from Fede, but find themselves chained together in the middle of town:

Daryl Dixon‘s lead characters have become deeply invested in the El Alcázar conflict, with their attempts to rescue both Justina and Antonio fated to have a major impact on the larger storyline at play. Fede’s villainous turn also comes with the complications that, without a ground ruling over them, Solaz del Mar won’t have guaranteed ways of defending themselves.

However, it’s messy because of how much he was willing to do to stop the truth about La Ofrenda from being revealed, even giving up his own niece to save face. While Daryl might be able to get her out, the consequences of attacking El Alcázar may fall back on Fede, since their leader, Guillermo, doesn’t know he’s acting alone.

As for Carol, her attempt to save Antonio will put them under fire from Solaz del Mar. While it’s unclear if all three of them will survive, it does signal the father-son duo can’t stay. Depending on what happens and how Daryl Dixon season 4 plays out, they might join the core pair on the next chapter of their journey.

With the season finale promising impressive action from both rescue missions and big moments, Daryl Dixon season 3 is poised to end in an exciting manner.
