Cyberpunk 2077’s New “Third-Person Mode” Is Your Excuse For Another Playthrough

Cyberpunk 2077’s New “Third-Person Mode” Is Your Excuse For Another Playthrough

Every so often, I hear a siren’s song calling me back to Cyberpunk 2077. Whether it’s a massive groundbreaking mod from the community or an official update, it’s easy to get back into the swing of things in Night City now that the game is functioning better.

Take this creation, for instance. The NeoClarity Graphics Mod, created by DubstepZz, completely reinvents the way you see the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 Looks Great In Third Person

Time For Another Playthrough

With a 10-minute video overview, you can see what Cyberpunk 2077 looks like in third-person. No surprise here, it’s pretty gorgeous, especially if you’re taking it easy with a brisk walk, witnessing all of Night City in its seedy glory. It’s wild to see just how far the game has progressed with mods and enhancements, as Night City looks way more like a living entity than it ever was at launch.

The third-person view, while not always ideal (I’d prefer a toggle myself), is excellent for waltzing around and looking at the city, really taking it in. Once everything gets hectic, I’d switch back to first-person in a pinch. It’s astounding how either viewpoint works, because Night City does all the heavy lifting in terms of theme and aesthetics.

The only real catch is that this mod package is gated behind the creator’s Patreon. If you’re interested in a third-person mod that’s publicly available, there’s also the JB – TPP third-person mod, available on Nexus Mods.

Finally, Enjoy Your V In All Their Stylish Glory

The Game Still Looks Great

Players often spend a lot of time making their V (the protagonist) perfect, but they don’t get to see them very often because of the first-person default view. Now, thanks to modders, they can see their V whenever they want. At this point, mods have a lot of the kinks worked out, which, combined with the now stable, strong baseline of the game, can come up with some impressive results.

We’ve seen fully reworked total conversion mods on top of smaller tweaks here and there, and like many open-world games before it, your entire experience can be customized. Added on top of the Phantom Liberty expansion (which has a ton of new content), it’s a lot to manage, especially if you can play it on the go on a Steam Deck.

Having been around mods for decades, the practice will never die out. Whenever there’s an open-world game that releases like Cyberpunk 2077, the modding community will answer the call and hit just about every wishlist item you can think of. Some of them even beat the official developers to the punch.
