After a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace five days ago, the hosts are 17 points from safety with 10 league matches of their season remaining.
The third-placed Villans drew 1-1 at home to Leeds United a day earlier and are 10 points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.

On-loan Girona defender or midfielder Ladislav Krejci is suspended for Wolves after being sent off against Palace.
Forward Hee Chan Hwang has returned to training following an injury but is not involved. Winger Enso Gonzalez has a long-term knee injury.

Analysis: Why Villa’s Emery is wary of Wolves
Despite their dismal league position for much of the campaign, Wolves proved they can test Villa when they travelled to Villa Park on November 30, 18 days after Edwards arrived from Middlesbrough.
Kamara’s goal midway through the second half was all that separated the sides. “We didn’t deserve to win,” Emery suggested, via Villa’s website. “[Wolves] performed fantastically.”
Emery believes Wolves have been better than their results have suggested. “In the last match they played at home, they drew against Arsenal – the best team in the Premier League and maybe in the world this year,” said the Spaniard.
“And last week, against Crystal Palace, they lost in the last minute [when they had] one player less… they deserved more.
“Everything we have analysed about them makes this not an easy match… we can feel it as a derby. They are playing at home with their supporters, and they will feel it necessary to show their capacity against us.”
