While the other areas of Gian Piero Gasperini’s new Roma have more or less taken shape, the area where the most changes are needed is the attack.
According to Il Tempo, in fact, the attacking lineup is the one with the least certainties.
On the right flank are Paulo Dybala, Matías Soulé, and Tommaso Baldanzi: no reinforcements are planned for that area of the pitch.
On the left flank, Stephan El Shaarawy, Lorenzo Pellegrini when he recovers from injury, Nicolò Pisilli (who has been tested both in midfield and behind the striker), and Baldanzi himself have also played there.
The first name on the Giallorossi’s mind to strengthen their attacking lineup is Claudio Echeverri, a young Manchester City talent who arrived in 2024 from River Plate for €18 million plus €9 million in bonuses.
Currently, the English club are only willing to let him go on dry loan, but Trigoria isn’t keen on this option.
The Giallorossi have presented their plans to the youngster, who has given an unequivocal yes to a move to the capital and is publicly signaling his preference for a move to Italy over a loan move to Girona, City’s preferred option.
The Argentine attacking midfielder has already made his decision and wants Roma: he’s also made his intentions known on social media, sending a message to Soulé and following Dybala.
