Chelsea transfer news: Rosenior – Garnacho

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Liam Delap, Liam Rosenior and Alejandro Garnacho that you may have missed…

For all the money spent, all the promises made, and all the grand rebuilding plans drawn up at Stamford Bridge over the last few seasons, one truth continues to glare back at Chelsea: they will not return to the summit of English football until they sign a proven, 30-goals-a-season striker, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

He told icfootballnews: ‘CHELSEA’s current squad is brimming with talent, energy, and potential. The team can dominate possession, press with intensity, and create chances. They have midfielders who can run games and wide players who can hurt anyone.

‘But for all that good work, every move forward seems to end with a familiar groan — another missed opportunity, another half-chance dragged wide, another moment where a top striker would simply have buried it.

‘That’s the difference between competing and winning. Between a top-six finish and a title challenge. Between frustration and glory.

‘It’s been the same story for years. Since the departure of their last true goal machine, Chelsea have cycled through expensive forwards who flickered but never truly caught fire. The club has persisted with the belief that goals can be shared across the team, that collective effort can compensate for lacking an elite finisher.

‘A Premier League-winning side cannot rely on streaky form or hope that a winger chips in with 15 goals. Every champion in recent memory has been propelled by a striker who delivers when it matters most. Chelsea’s rivals understand this. They’ve built their teams around it. And until Chelsea follow suit, they’ll continue to fall short.

‘This upcoming summer represents a pivotal moment. The squad is young and improving. The team’s tactical structure is clearer. Many departments are strong enough to challenge already — except the one that matters most.

‘If Chelsea truly want to take the next step, they must stop dancing around the issue and go out to secure the type of striker they have been missing for far too long.

‘They need a leader in the box. A predator. Someone who turns tight games into victories, who scores the first goal when the team is flat, who snatches the winner in the 89th minute away from home on a cold Wednesday night. A forward who lifts the players around him simply by being on the pitch.

‘Chelsea fans have waited long enough. The club can talk about projects, pathways, and philosophies all they like, but football remains wonderfully simple: goals win titles. And right now, CHELSEA don’t score enough of them.

‘It’s time to change that. This summer, the club must bring in a striker who guarantees 30 goals. Not hopes. Not potential. Guarantees.’

CHELSEA TO SELL GARNACHO

Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for winger Alejandro Garnacho in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to fresh reporting from icfootballnews. The Argentine wide man, who arrived from Manchester United amid significant fanfare and expectation, is now understood to be one of several players the club are open to moving on as they reshape the squad ahead of next season.

Sources indicate that CHELSEA’s hierarchy no longer view Garnacho as essential to their long-term plans, with the player struggling to secure a consistent starting role since his arrival.

Despite his reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young wingers, he has failed to translate flashes of ability into sustained impact in a Chelsea shirt.

Garnacho’s minutes have been limited due to tactical inconsistency, competition for places, and patchy form. While his pace and directness were expected to bring much-needed unpredictability to Chelsea’s attack, the coaching staff reportedly remain unconvinced by his decision-making, defensive contribution and overall reliability.

The club’s intent to listen to offers fits into their broader objective of balancing the wage bill and generating funds for key summer targets, particularly in central defence and the forward line.

With several attackers already competing for similar positions, Chelsea see an opportunity to cash in on a player who still holds considerable market value among European clubs.

Interest from Spain and Italy is anticipated, with clubs impressed by Garnacho’s raw ability and long-term potential. Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to demand a substantial fee to avoid taking a financial loss.

Why Garnacho was a waste of money

Although Garnacho arrived with excitement and hype, his Chelsea spell has been underwhelming enough that many fans would argue he was ultimately a waste of money.

The winger was brought in to provide explosiveness, goals and game-changing moments — yet none of those materialised consistently. For all his talent, his end product has been erratic, his decision-making often frustrating, and his performances lacked the maturity required at a club expecting immediate results.

CHELSEA needed a ready-made star, not another project. Garnacho’s moments of brilliance were too infrequent, his influence too slight, and his trajectory too uncertain. In a team desperately needing reliability and leadership in attack, he offered neither.

In the end, Chelsea’s willingness to sell says everything.

LIAM DELAP TO MAKE SUMMER MOVE

Former Blues star turned Pundit Pat Nevin believes Chelsea will look to sell Liam Delap this summer after the striker has failed to make the impact at the club that he would have liked.

Delap, who has struggled for consistent minutes since arriving at CHELSEA, has spent recent seasons shifting between loan spells and bench roles, prompting concerns that his career risks losing momentum.

Nicolas Jackson’s likely return from an unsuccessful loan spell at Bayern Munich will provide further competition for minutes next season, while the Blues have also been linked with an audacious bid for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez.

And with that in mind, former Chelsea winger Nevin believes Delap could well be heading for the exit this summer, just one year after he joined the club: ‘The numbers aren’t looking great in terms of goals scored and assists and things like that, and they’re trying to find different positions for him, playing him slightly wider than you would normally when he is brought on,’ he told talkSPORTBET Casino.

‘I really like him as a player. I would love him on my team. When I was a player, I’d love a player to hit balls into space for.

‘Because he runs, and he stretches teams, and makes more space for yourself if you’re a creative midfielder. And I think the Chelsea fans have got a lot of time for him because he works hard.

‘You look back at the likes of Timo Werner, CHELSEA fans were all right with him because he worked for them. He may not be the best player in the world sometimes

‘I think Liam is a better all-round player than Timo Werner because there’s more technical stuff to his game. He’s also shown that he can score at this level.

‘Chelsea and him, the wrong move? It might actually be the case now. But there are some others coming in, you think of Nicolas Jackson coming back, so there is a pressure.

‘Chelsea will move in that position in the summer, they’ll do something, and they’ll adapt, and who knows what will happen with Chelsea in the summer. But certainly that centre-forward position is something to look at.’
