The team sheets are in at the Stade Velodrome, where Newcastle United take on Marseille in tonight’s 8pm kick-off in the UEFA Champions League.
Newcastle sit sixth in the table and have won their last three in Europe, while Marseille sit back in 25th after losing three of their opening four games, despite their superb form in Ligue 1.
Newcastle XI: Pope – Murphy, Thiaw, Schar, Burn, Livramento – Willock, Bruno, Tonali, Barnes – Gordon.
Subs: Thompson, Ramsdale, Hall, Botman, Joelinton, Elanga, Woltemade, A.Murphy, Ramsey, Miley, Alabi.
Marseille XI: Rulli – Weah, Pavard, Balerdi (c), Emerson – Hojbjerg, Vermeeren – Greenwood, Bakola, Paixao – Aubameyang.
Eddie Howe has made THREE changes from Saturday’s 2-1 win over Man City, seeing Dan Burn, Joe Willock and Anthony Gordon replace Lewis Hall, Joelinton and Nick Woltemade.
Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga are on a strong-looking bench along with Lewis Miley, Sven Botman and 16-year-old talent Sam Alabi.
As expected, Kieran Trippier misses out with a hamstring injury, with Yoane Wissa and Will Osula absent once again, which may explain why Howe is protecting Woltemade ahead of such a busy run of games.
Former Man Utd winger Mason Greenwood starts in attack for Marseille, along with familiar faces like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Benjamin Pavard.
Howay the lads!
