Along for the ride are her love interest Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), BFF Mindy Chen (Ashley Park), and hilarious and harsh manager Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu). And who could forget her wise coworkers Luc (Bruno Gouery) and Julian (Samuel Arnold)?

There’s no doubt that Emily in Paris is far from a prestige drama or clever comedy, and it holds a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of this writing. However, the ratings speak for themselves. According to Variety, Emily in Paris Season 4 had 19.9 million views within four days of arriving on Netflix.

It’s tough to resist the pull of Emily’s constant mistakes and juicy romantic problems, making Emily in Paris the ultimate guilty pleasure. Will she end up with Alfie or Gabriel when Season 5 drops on December 18, and will she call Rome home forever? There’s no complex lore to unpack here, and any big plot twist can be spotted far in advance. Still, sometimes an easy watch is exactly what you want, and it’s fair to say that Season 5 will deliver.
