Batman’s New Batmobile Might Be DC’s Coolest Ride in Years

Batman’s New Batmobile Might Be DC’s Coolest Ride in Years

With DC preparing to relaunch Batman this September, fans can expect a wave of design overhauls. While the publisher has already unveiled the new looks for the Dark Knight and the Boy Wonder, the artist behind the upcoming series has now revealed the redesigned Batmobile, giving fans a first look at the next evolution of Batman’s iconic ride.

On July 29, 2025, artist Jorge Jiménez took to X to reveal the first look at the Dark Knight’s new ride for the upcoming relaunch of the Batman title, which is set to debut its first issue on September 3, 2025. The post showcases a sleek new design for the latest Batmobile, which now complements Bruce’s updated color scheme.

The vehicle is primarily black, with striking blue accents that resemble those of the Dark Knight’s new costume. Alongside the visual reveal, Jiménez also shared additional details about what sets this Batmobile apart from previous versions.

In his caption, Jiménez teased that the “car is very big” and “VERY FAST.” However, the most notable reveal was that this Batmobile will be electric. This marks a significant shift from Bruce’s previous vehicles, which have primarily run on gas, making it one of the most modern interpretations of the Batmobile to date.

It will be interesting to see how the story addresses the electric Batmobile, especially in terms of performance. It’s likely the vehicle will have a far longer battery life than something like a Tesla and will include multiple backup systems in case its main power source fails due to long-term use or unforeseen circumstances during missions.

So far, fan response to the new Batmobile has been overwhelmingly positive. Many are excited for the series launch and have praised Jiménez’s bold creative direction. The electric Batmobile stands out as one of the most colorful in recent memory, with its vivid blue accents offering a fresh and welcome departure from the darker designs of past versions.

For many fans, Jiménez’s Batmobile design may have sparked a sense of déjà vu. The look feels like a perfect fusion of the vehicles from The Batman animated series (2004–2008) and Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The colors and sleek styling nod to the animated version, while the build resembles the 1968–70 Dodge Charger featured in Reeves’ film.

Jiménez has yet to confirm whether those versions inspired his design, but the similarities are hard to ignore. It would be especially exciting if the Battinson Batmobile served as an influence, given how widely that design has been praised. Seeing elements from these fan-favorite vehicles brought to life in a modern Batman comic is a thrill in itself.
