Although Barcelona were able to continue their winning momentum this Saturday with a narrow 1-0 win over Athletic Club, Ferran Torres’ form remains a concern.
It was addressed by Hansi Flick, as the Barcelona coach acknowledged that the Spaniard is indeed struggling with form and goals.
“He doesn’t have confidence, but we have to help him. It’s important that he tries everything,” said Flick after the Athletic Club win.
The confidence levels are down, with Ferran having last found the back of the net in late January. This puts him under a heap of pressure heading into the final stretch of the campaign.
Barcelona still trust Ferran
Despite the mounting pressure, the message from the club is clear: The trust in Ferran remains unshaken, reports Diario SPORT.
While his recent statistics invite reflection, the dressing room and the coaching staff maintain full confidence in the “Shark.”
Flick is the first to recognise that he needs the best version of the striker, who shone in a special way last season and starred in an explosive first half of the current campaign.
In fact, Ferran’s overall season figures remain remarkable at 19 goals, a tally that reflects the high ceiling he reached when he was consistently starting over Robert Lewandowski earlier in the season.
Since then, it has been quite a change of scenery. Robert Lewandowski has found the net six times in 2026 despite having fewer minutes, while Lamine Yamal continues to carry the offensive weight with a spectacular 19 goals and 15 assists.
Even Raphinha has managed four goals in the new year despite dealing with injuries.
However, Flick believes the only solution is to keep insisting. The coach is convinced that the striker’s work ethic and speed will eventually break the streak of bad luck.
