With Virgil van Dijk yet to pen down his contract extension at Anfield Stadium, his future remains open, and multiple clubs have been trying to monitor the situation and test the waters to contemplate if they can land the Dutch monstro on a possible free transfer.
The former Southampton star will be out of contract at L4 at the end of this season, and it will be interesting to see if the chiefs at Kirkby can push all guns ablaze to convince him to pen down a new deal, especially if the likes of Trent and Salah are leaving the club.

Barca are one of the most in-form clubs in European football at the moment, given how they are playing some slick football under Hansi Flick. However, so are Liverpool. But the fact that they have ample of star players at Camp Nou to ensure that they keep on competing at the highest level for years to come is something that would be under question at L4, especially with the aiding departures of Salah and Trent.
It could also end up being a case for changing environments given how VVD has been plying trade in the pace and physical English league for a while now. But we will see if Barca, with all their financial and registration concerns, is able to convince the Liverpool skipper to join them.
