Baller League cements key US distribution deal with CBS Sports’ Golazo

Baller League cements key US distribution deal with CBS Sports’ Golazo

February 6 – Baller League’s push into the US market has taken a big step forward with confirmation of a broadcast agreement with CBS Sports, which will air the inaugural American season on its free-to-view Golazo Network.

The deal gives the six-a-side competition a national television platform from day one, positioning Baller League US alongside already established football properties. All matchdays from the league’s first US season, which launches in March, will be shown live, with additional availability on digital platforms.

The CBS Sports agreement offers scale and credibility for Baller League’s creator-led model. The format has found traction in the UK, where it blends short-form matches, team ownership by creators and celebrities, and entertainment-driven rules designed to compress traditional football into a product optimised for streaming and social consumption.

“This agreement with CBS Sports is a major moment for Baller League as we continue to redefine what soccer can mean in America,” said Felix Starck, CEO of Baller League International.

“We’re building something that lives where sport meets culture – uniting creators, players, and fans in new ways. We cannot wait to bring this next chapter of Baller League to life on CBS Sports.”

CBS Sports Golazo Network has carved out a niche as a home for global football content in the US. The partnership says that the network’s free, 24/7 model ‘aligns closely’ with Baller League’s emphasis on accessibility and discovery, particularly among younger audiences who are less likely to engage with traditional pay-TV sports bundles.

The US edition of the league, like the UK version, will feature a high-profile cast including Usain Bolt, Ronaldinho, Odell Beckham Jr and a number of major streaming personalities.

Production-wise, the league is promising a hybrid approach that sits somewhere between conventional sports coverage and live creator streams, with an emphasis on behind-the-scenes access and personality-led storytelling.

All matches will also be streamed live on platforms including Twitch, YouTube and Kick, reinforcing the idea that broadcast television is one part of a broader distribution strategy rather than the end goal.

The inaugural US season will run across ten matchdays before concluding with a playoff finale.
