LIVERPOOL head coach Arne Slot insisted the club would never hesitate to sign a player if the chance presented itself, as reports suggest that the Reds are still interested in signing Alexander Isak.
Despite having spent close to £300 million already this summer, the Reds continue to be linked with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in what would be a British transfer record deal.
Isak has been all over the transfer headlines in recent days after it emerged that he wanted to leave Newcastle, that he wanted to make the move to Anfield, and that the Reds will pay crazy money to get a transfer deal done.
Florian Wirtz has been brought to the club, while also bringing in his Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike, Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but But Slot said the spending may not stop there.
“I always say, another thing about Liverpool is that if we see a chance in the market, we never hesitate to bring someone in,” he told reporters before departing Japan at the end of their trip to the Far East.
“In the end it’s about quality and we have already made some very good signings. In terms of quality, we are already in the right place.”
IcFootballnews Says…
LIVERPOOL have spent some serious money and Slot is getting the players that he wants to push on from last season and win a few more trophies, but Isak would be a massive signing for the club.
He is already top class, and in that Liverpool attack, he could push on and score 35-40 goals a season for the club, it is just a case of whether Liverpool want to spend close to £150 million for the big Swedish star.
