Years after it was first revealed, ARC Raiders has finally set a release date alongside its new trailer premiering at this year’s Summer Game Fest. Embark Studios first revealed its extraction shooter in late 2021 (then planned to be a purely cooperative PvE experience), but development resources were redirected to completing and shipping The Finals, which launched in December 2023. ARC Raiders is now set to be released later this year.
ARC Raiders‘ release date is October 30, 2025, as revealed in a new trailer shown at Summer Game Fest, the annual presentation hosted by Geoff Keighley. The trailer shows off ARC Raiders‘ cutthroat gameplay and sets the stage for the game’s launch. Players scavenge a region known as the Rust Belt for supplies, aiding an underground city called Speranza attempting to eke out a living after the ARC machines have taken over the surface. Expeditions to the surface can be undertaken in teams of up to three players, though duo and solo play are possible.
ARC Raiders Is Getting Polished After Multiple Playtests
“The Best Rehearsal We Could Get”
Excitement for ARC Raiders really took off after its second technical test in late April/early May, and a press release provided alongside the new trailer discusses the subsequent road to launch. The game’s executive producer, Aleksander Grøndal, said, “The tech test was the best rehearsal we could get, ahead of what’s shaping up as a big release this fall.” Tech Test 2 lets players get an early look at ARC Raiders, but has now been confirmed as a scaled back version of the game.
“There are bugs to squash, as well as general polish and performance improvements to be done,” Grøndal said in the press release. “We’re also fine-tuning game balance and the player economy, and will work on an even better onboarding experience for players who come in new to this genre.” He goes on to mention that the full release of ARC Raiders will feature more locations and have a wider variety of “adventures” to enjoy, with a hint that more progression goals are being added to encourage players.
The Rust Belt Isn’t Going Anywhere
Following Tech Test 2’s conclusion, many ARC Raiders fans have been clamoring for the game to be released, hoping for a shadow drop at Summer Game Fest. While that didn’t come to pass, it’s likely for the best, even if the game was in a solid state. Grøndal’s words in the press release are encouraging, indicating that Embark knows exactly what needs improvement after the playtest. Fewer bugs and better tutorials can only help its launch, and there is now hopefully time for the developers to implement quality-of-life features, like an inventory cursor for console players.
ARC Raiders has some great momentum, and this new trailer will help build excitement even further. It has a chance to be a standout shooter this year, especially in the extraction genre after Marathon‘s stolen art controversy in May. Summer Game Fest always delivers, and among many other exciting trailers, it’s nice to finally have a release date for ARC Raiders.
