Antony’s dazzling form for Real Betis continues as he produces outrageous assist, despite late red card – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United loanee Antony produced a brilliant assist for Real Betis’ opening goal, as they beat Getafe 2-1 on Sunday at Estadio Coliseum.

Antony has been in terrific form since departing United for Betis in the January transfer window. He has already managed three goals for Betis, with two of those coming in La Liga.

He has also provided two assists, the latest of which saw him run half the length of the pitch, shrugging off a few challenges in the process, before he expertly slipped the ball into the path of Isco.

The former Real Madrid star made no mistake, firing home to set Betis on their way.

However, Antony did not complete the match and it was not because he was substituted. The Brazilian was given his marching orders in the dying embers of proceedings for a lunge on Juan Iglesias.

Antony will therefore not be available for Betis’ next game against Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid – a real blow to Betis and the player.

During the time he was on the pitch against Getafe, Antony touched the ball 71 times and managed to find his teammates with 33 of the 45 passes he attempted. Three of his passes were key passes.

The United man attempted to connect with four long balls and managed to find his target four times. He of course created one big chance, from which Betis broke the deadlock.

Antony registered one shot but he was thwarted by Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.

The 24-year-old won five of the 14 ground duels he delved into and won of the four aerial challenges he contested.

He made three interceptions and as many tackles.

Isco scored a second from the penalty spot in the 77th minute to secure Betis’ victory, ensuring Borja Mayoral’s strike just five minutes later didn’t count for too much.

Meanwhile, United are back in action on Wednesday when they welcome Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
