Anime on Netflix is thriving lately thanks to key major offerings joining its library, the latest of which being Dragon Ball DAIMA. However, according to Netflix Tudum’s Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows from October 21 to October 27, 2024, Dragon Ball DAIMA, Dan Da Dan, and Ranma ½ all feature on the latest confirmed chart. With DAIMA joining the platform and quickly seizing the #2 spot as its first week on the chart, it joins Dan Da Dan which places at #3 and Ranma ½ at #6, each enjoying their third weeks in the top 10 as a major win for anime on Netflix.
Dragon Ball DAIMA recently joined Netflix on October 18, 2024, meaning it didn’t need long for the series to catch fire in addition to its streaming home on Crunchyroll. Add to that are the continuously buzzworthy and absurd plot developments of Dan Da Dan and the crowd-pleasing return of Ranma ½ with its remake, in addition to other recent hits to join the platform like Blue Box. Despite relatively lower saturation, anime originals are quickly becoming a worthwhile investment to the streaming giant with Dragon Ball DAIMA as the latest and 10,200,000 hours viewed between these three series alone.

Dragon Ball DAIMA is the fifth overall series in the action-adventure anime franchise. It features most of the classic cast members as de-aged versions of themselves, including Goku, Vegeta, and Bulma. The series was announced at NYCC 2023, with creator Akira Toriyama returning to handle DAIMA’s run.
