‘American Pie’ Star Jason Biggs Showed Young Son NSFW Apple Pie Scene

‘American Pie’ Star Jason Biggs Showed Young Son NSFW Apple Pie Scene

Put yourself in the unfortunate shoes of Jason Biggs, star of the American Pie franchise: now a father of two pre-teen sons, Sid and Lazlo, he’s the guy that made love to a homemade apple pie in Hollywood’s defining sex comedy. As high school student Jim Levenstein, he’s convinced by buddy Chris ‘Oz’ Ostreicher (Chris Klein) that the closest thing to a woman’s anatomy was a baked treat his mom had conveniently left for him on the kitchen counter that same day. Desperate for the experience, he does the unimaginable, and poor Biggs has now got to answer for his character’s actions when the kids feel like investigating.

Appearing on an episode of SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show this week, the actor claimed he had to address this shameful scene in front of Sid just recently, after the 11-year-old got wind of it from outside sources.

“They kept hearing about American Pie and pie and [asking], ‘Daddy, what do you do with the pie?’ and I had to have a conversation with my oldest. I actually showed him the scene. Jenny [Mollen] and I talked about this, and we were like, ‘We want to get ahead of this.’

“It’s my version of a sex talk, right? It’s like, how much do you want them to hear from friends and other people at school, and how much do you want to control the narrative, and it was literally happening with American Pie.”

Biggs, who reunited with his American Pie co-stars Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth, Alyson Hannigan, and Klein for Dinner and a Movie last summer, then elaborated on why this decision was a long time in the making. Apparently, when he and wife Mollen were walking through New York with their boys one day, a guy “walked past us all and literally screamed ‘Hey, it’s the pie-f*****!'” back towards them. Thankfully, neither of the youngsters caught what he’d shouted. But did Sid have any idea what he was in for when his dad eventually collected the courage to show him the movie? Biggs revealed:

“He guessed it, so in a way, I almost didn’t control the narrative, but I wanted to ask him first. I said, ‘What do you think happens?’ I was just curious, and he actually guessed correctly. He was embarrassed to say it, very embarrassed, but I was like, ‘Okay. Let me show you. Let me show you what happened,’ and so I showed him the scene, and he laughed and laughed. He was a little uncomfortable for sure.”

The “Turning Point” in Jason Biggs’ Life

This comes after Biggs told People that his alter-ego’s questionable handling of an apple pie was a “turning point in my life.” Naturally, after reading Adam Herz’s screenplay, the young actor (Biggs was just 20 years old when filming happened) was nervous as hell to physically act out the Man vs. Food sequence for the cameras and even called up his agent to double-check it was going to be funny. But when he did so, the crew’s reaction gave him so much confidence.

“All of a sudden, everyone on set burst out laughing and I thought, ‘Oh, this is amazing. This is a home run.’ And since that moment, I’ve never ever questioned anything. That was a turning point in my life where I was like, ‘No, if I think it’s funny, you just go for it. If you fall flat on your face, so be it.'”
