January 30 – The Asian Football Confederation has graduated the latest cohort of its AFC Certificate in Football Administration and Management (ACFAM) programme, with 10 participants completing the hybrid course in Indonesia as part of the Garuda Academy framework.
Delivered in collaboration with the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), the programme was staged in Jakarta over a two-month period and formed part of the Garuda Academy’s CORE 3 and CORE 4 pathways. It was the first time the ACFAM programme has been delivered in Indonesia.
The course comprised six modules aimed at strengthening governance, leadership and operational capacity within football organisations.
Areas covered included income generation, club licensing, financial management, strategic planning, content creation and football governance, with progress monitored through applied learning sessions, case studies and group discussions.
The programme is designed to support the development of financially resilient and well-governed football organisations, aligning with the AFC’s broader push to professionalise administrative structures across its member associations.
AFC Deputy General Secretary – Member Associations, Vahid Kardany, said: “This specially-tailored programme meets PSSI’s strategic requirements, and was designed to boost the abilities of future leaders of Asian football, provide them with comprehensive knowledge and ensure they are fully capable of staying abreast of a continually-evolving football landscape.
“The AFC places the development of our Member and Regional Associations above and beyond, and I congratulate our graduates for their dedication to not only improving their leadership and administration capacities, but also for helping us move closer to achieving our Mission and Vision and simultaneously taking the Continental game to greater heights.”
