The Last Of Us
has delivered one of the most devastating episodes so far, and despite the traumatic events that have seen game-players shocked at the series going through with the major death of Pedro Pascal’s Joel and non-game players saying they are now done with the show, it has set an incredible new record for the series on IMDb.
Any show killing off one of its lead characters is a risky movie, one that can often be polarizing when it comes to those reviewing episodes on the likes of IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes. However, in a shock almost bigger than the death of Joel itself, after more than 15,000 reviews, Episode 2 of Season 2 has achieved the highest rating of the entire series so far, with a 9.5 out of 10 score.
This puts it just above Episode 5 of Season 1, entitled Endure and Survive, which scored 9.4. Fans were delivered a huge shock (unless you have played the games, of course) in episode 2, with newcomer Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) killing Joel (Pascal) to avenge her father, the Firefly surgeon who was supposed to operate on Ellie (Bella Ramsey). At the same time, Jackson was attacked by a horde of infected, with Tommy (Gabriel Luna) and Maria (Rutina Wesley) leading the fight, just barely stopping them from destroying the town.
