Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news, gossip and transfer latest that we think you guys could have missed from icfootballnews…
It has been claimed that new Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is keen for the board to chase striker Samu Omorodion, as he is the kind of striker that the boss would like to have in his squad.
With Manchester United looking to splash some more cash and try to sign players that will develop in the coming seasons – Omorodion was a player that was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League towards the back-end of the transfer window.
But despite all the rumours and speculation – The 6ft 4in striker eventually joined Porto permanently and since then he has been on fire for the Portuguese outfit, and he is really impressing at the Portuguese giants.
What is the Latest?
While a move for a proven striker like Viktor Gyokeres might prove popular with fans, it is on Samu Omorodion that manager Amorim is “insisting” that the Red Devils chase, Fichajes.net reports.
The 20-year-old has enhanced his reputation greatly since moving to Porto in the summer for €15 million – considerably less than Chelsea were expected to pay – notably shining against Manchester United in a thrilling 3-3 Europa League draw in October.
The Spain under-21 international has recently expressed his relief at not heading to the Premier League with Chelsea – He told RTVE: “I went through a very difficult period, because, after all, everyone knows that I was about to sign [for Chelsea ], but the truth is that it didn’t happen. It was for one reason: God didn’t want it. I’m very happy, very content to be there.
‘The truth is that things are going very well for me and, above all, I want to continue to show what I’m capable of.”

Chelsea would have been a massive move for the lad to make that is for sure – but the right decision was made as he simply was not ready for a move to the Blues or the Premier League.
Maybe in the future a move to England could happen – but this move to PORTO is really working out for the lad and to be honest – he could develop into a class striker in the coming seasons
He is not ready for Manchester United yet
GYOKERES TO FOLLOW AMORIM IN?
Former Red Devils Dimitar Berbatov is fully expecting Ruben Amorim to ask that Viktor Gyokeres is signed by Manchester United, as the club needs to improve their front line over the next few windows.

Rasmus Hojlund has blown hot and cold since his arrival from Atalanta last season and has scored just two goals in ten games since returning from injury in late September, while Joshua Zirkzee scored on his debut against Fulham but has since failed to hit the back of the net.
Gyokeres has a staggering 16 goals in just 10 league games so far this season and is one of the most talked about young strikers in the game, and a player that Amorim knows very well as the boss has been working with the forward since his move from Coventry.
And amid all the speculation surrounding the striker and his future, Berbatov wouldn’t be surprised if Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres joins Amorim at Old Trafford to improve upon United’s current attacking options: ‘This guy Viktor Gyokeres, he is scoring goals for run right now,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘So I think there is a special connection with the coach so maybe we probably are going to see him in a United shirt.’
Asked if he would welcome the signing, Berbatov replied: ‘From what he is showing right now, I think yes.
‘Our strikers at the moment are not producing and scoring goals. We’re 18th in the league [for goals scored so far this season] which is embarrassing for a stature of club like United. So this is a position that I would like to see improvement.
Speaking on the Red Devils’ transfer pursuit of the star, the Amorim said, “Gyokeres costs €100 million (£83.7m) and it’s very difficult. I’m not going to pick up any Sporting player in January.”

Look, Gyokeres is a quality striker that could have been a great signing for Manchester United – he will come at a risk for many clubs as the Premier League is alot better than the Portuguese League.
Everyone is excited to see what Amorim can do at United, he just needs the signings to keep on improving the side.
AMORIM WANTS CARRERAS RE-SIGNED
Five-time Portuguese League winner Álvaro Magalhães believes incoming Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim may seek to bring Alvaro Carreras, back to Old Trafford when he gets the chance in the next couple of transfer windows.
Carreras, 21, initially joined the Red Devils academy in 2020, but the defender failed to break into the senior squad and after a succession of loan transfers was sold permanently to Benfica by Erik Ten Hag over the summer as the Dutchman needed to make some space in his squad.
Reports have since emerged revealing United included a 50 per cent sell-on clause and a cheap £16m buy-back clause in the deal. Carreras has played 14 times for Benfica so far this season, scoring once
And speaking to Record, 63-year-old Benfica legend Alvaro Magalhaes believes Amorim could make a move to take the star from his old rivals – He said: “I fear that Rúben Amorim wants him at Manchester United. It seems to me that he has the quality to be one of the first options and looking at the squad.
“I believe that with the new coaching staff he could become a possibility again, especially because the new coach knows him very well based on what he saw from him at Benfica.
“It would be a lot if Benfica had the ability to not let him escape, but now the decision is not just in the club’s hands.”
He explained: “This ability to react to adversity seems to be his strength. Great players only succeed if they are mentally very strong and that seems to be the case.
“Anyone who is weak cannot play for Benfica, just as they cannot play for Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, or PSG.
“If he were weak, he would have already been released from Benfica and would be demonstrating quality in another team.
“Benfica were in time to not lose one of those players that we must fight to keep at the club due to his quality. I hope he has a lot of luck and continues to have a great season.”
