Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episodes 6, 7 & 8 Recap And Ending Explained

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 6, 7, & 8A new batch of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes has hit Disney+, continuing Peter Parker’s evolution in an alternate MCU timeline where Norman Osborn is his mentor. Now wearing a brand-new suit designed by Oscorp, Spider-Man has the resources and guidance of Norman as well as his son Harry as his “guy in the chair”. However, new challenges and threats have raised the stakes enough to shake Parker’s confidence in his Webslinging activities.

As seen in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 3, 4, & 5, Spider-Man agreed to work with Norman, and they finally settled on a new costume upgrade. Working with Harry who inadvertently discovered his secret identity, Spider-Man has seemingly settled into a new status quo. Meanwhile, Lonnie Lincoln continues to spend time with the 110th St. gang and their ongoing war with the Scorpions. Keeping that in mind, here’s our recap and ending breakdown for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episodes 6, 7, & 8.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episodes 6, 7 & 8 Recap

“Duel With The Devil”, “Scorpion Rising”, & “Tangled Web”

  • Lonnie is put on academic probation due to all his time being spent with the 110.
  • Peter gets paired with Pearl as her new science partner.
  • Peter tries to bond with Harry and Nico at his apartment.
  • Attending a charity event for an Avengers relief fund, Norman meets with Secretary Ross, offering government contracts and security upgrades in exchange for turning a blind eye to Spider-Man.
  • Getting an alert while at the charity event, Norman has Peter check on a security breach at Oscorp (leaving Harry and Nico).
  • Spider-Man finds Daredevil at Norman’s computer. Fighting on the roof, Daredevil tells Peter that Osborn is hiding something.
  • Harry accidently reveals Peter’s secret after Nico claims they told each other everything.
  • In the aftermath of Spider-Man’s encounter with Daredevil, Norman reveals his history with Otto Octavius, who stole Oscorp projects and took them underground for his own recognition. Norman believes Daredevil was hired by Otto.
  • Nico is hurt that Peter didn’t tell her he was Spider-Man.
  • The Scorpions find the 110’s safehouse. Mac Gargan is given a brand-new suit of armor from Otto.
  • Norman is trying to track down Otto by scanning for unique energy signatures from his tech, and Spider-Man starts tracking a gamma signature.
  • Harry meets with Nico to try and smooth things over. The duo eventually starts bonding and end up in a drag race with Hot Rod.
  • At the end of the drag race, Nico is protected by her amulet, which looks to contain some kind of magical power tied to her family history.
  • Pearl Comes To 110 to confront Lonnie, right as Gargan attacks in his new Scorpion armor (though Spider-Man soon arrives as well).
  • Scorpion eventually gains the upper hand, overheating his armor before stabbing Spider-Man while Norman is distracted trying to locate Otto.
  • Norman sends a glider to save a wounded Spider-Man.
  • Spider-Man is cared for by Oscorp doctors and scientists who take his blood. Animal subjects are also brought in to Oscorp, presumably to test it.
  • While in recovery, Norman says he needs Spider-Man to reach a higher level, and that their relationship might need to end if he can’t do so.
  • Peter suffers nightmares, and he’s worried he’ll never be strong enough.
  • Norman sends Ross after Otto for violating the Sokovia Accords. During the raid, Otto’s arms are shown attacking, but aren’t yet connected to Otto himself, though Iron Man arrives and Octavius is arrested.
  • While Peter and Pearl are working on their science project, Lonnie shows up and reveals that the 110 are going after the Scorpions and that he wants to see things through, prompting Pearl to break up with him, while Peter begs Lonnie not to go back.
  • Peter talks with Norman, who tells him to stop holding back and embrace his power: “With great power, comes great respect“.
  • The 110 meet with The Chameleon who points them in the direction of Otto’s gear.
  • Harry tells Peter that what Spider-Man needs to be should be up to him, before revealing he had a new costume made inspired by Peter’s designs.

Daredevil and Spider-Man’s Showdown Explained

Daredevil Doesn’t Trust Norman Osborn

Wearing an all-black suit with red eyes, this alt-MCU timeline’s Daredevil (voiced by Charlie Cox) encounters Spider-Man in Norman’s office, attempting to investigate and presumably find any dirt on the Oscorp CEO. Seeing the Man Without Fear as a criminal who’s breaking and entering, Spider-Man starts fighting with Daredevil who tries to make Spider-Man see that Norman is supposedly hiding something. However, Daredevil does believe that Spider-Man is trying to do the right thing.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Cast & Character Guide – Every Actor In The Animated Series

Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is in development, and its main cast members are steadily being confirmed in the meantime.

While they may have fought each other during this first encounter, seeing Daredevil and Spider-Man suited up and sharing the screen together is pretty exciting. Despite being in an adjacent timeline to the main MCU and animated, it’s very cool to see them matching blows with their unique abilities and heightened senses. Likewise, one can imagine that a future team-up later on in the series or in future seasons is likely in the works.

Scorpion’s New MCU Armor Explained

Created by Otto Octavius

Wearing deadly new armor created by Otto Octavius, MCU fans finally get to see the MCU’s Mac Gargan as a true Scorpion, just like in the original Marvel Comics. Essentially just a green rig on his chest with a long prehensile tail, this more conservative look for Scorpion fights the MCU incredibly well. That said, he’s still a major threat to Spider-Man and nearly killed the Wallcrawler had Norman not sent a glider to rescue Peter after Gargan used his tail to stab him.

“The fact that Peter’s confidence is so shaken in the aftermath makes Scorpion even more of an impressive Spider-Man villain for this new alt-MCU show…”

The debut of this new armor is even better considering Scorpion’s small role in Spider-Man: Homecoming which still hasn’t gone anywhere in the MCU. Furthermore, the Scorpion of this timeline represents the first time when this Spider-Man was outmatched, raising the stakes where people he cared about were in danger, and he wasn’t strong enough to save the day. The fact that Peter’s confidence is so shaken in the aftermath makes Scorpion even more of an impressive Spider-Man villain for this new alt-MCU show.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8 Ending Explained

Peter Parker Gets His Classic Spider-Man Costume

Peter and Classic Spider-Man Suit in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Episode 8

In Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode 8, Norman provides Spider-Man with a darker version of the classic Uncle Ben motto. Encouraging Peter to stop holding back and to instead demand respect with his power, Norman tells Peter “With great power, comes great respect.” As such, most of the episode sees Peter pondering Norman’s words, considering if that’s what he really needs to do to take his superhero work to the next level.

It’s great to see Peter questioning the kind of Spider-Man he wants to be, especially combined with Harry encouraging Peter to be the one who decides what Spider-Man needs. This idea is further hammered home when Harry then shows Peter the new costume he had made inspired by Parker’s own designs and notebook drawings. As such, the fact that Spider-Man is now wearing a classic red and blue suit implies he’s finally ready to be a full-fledged hero on his own terms, just in time for the final episodes next week.

The final two episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man are set to release February 19th on Disney+.
