The USMNT picked up their second win of 2025, 3-0 over Costa Rica and their new manager Miguel Hererra to complete the January window and a fine start to the calendar year. The US opener came midway through the first half with Brian White scoring. The US wouldn’t score again until the 78th minute when Caden Clark would add a goal, followed by Patrick Agyemang in the 90th. In between the US held the lead largely thanks to Zack Steffen who had three saves on the night, including this diving save in the 56th minute.
Overall scores were up from the opener against Venezuela with all the starters scoring at least a 6. The highest rated field player of the night was Diego Luna who picked up a 7.98 but ultimately it was Zack Steffen who walked away with SSFC Man of the Match honors, with a 8.02 rating though this was technically second in line to new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
