The Golden Globes ceremony on January 5 honored some of the best films, shows, and actors of 2024. The selection of honorees was large and diverse, recognizing a great year for films and television. Actors like Demi Moore made history and films like The Brutalist demonstrated worthiness to win Best Picture at the upcoming Academy Awards. Here’s where to watch each of the Golden Globes winners.
Netflix Has Night’s Biggest Film, Emilia Pérez
Emilia Pérez had the most wins for any film at this year’s Golden Globes ceremony. The musical, which streams exclusively on Netflix, shows a lawyer trying to help a cartel boss transition into being a woman. Emilia Pérez won Best Picture twice, in the musical or comedy category and the non-English language category. Zoe Saldaña won the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and “El Mal” won for Best Original Song.
Baby Reindeer, the Netflix miniseries based on a true story about a comedian and his stalker, won for Best Television Limited Series. Jessica Gunning won Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role on Television for playing the stalker. Also streaming on Netflix is the stand-up special Single Lady which earned Ali Wong a Golden Globe for Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television.

Shogun and Hulu Earn Most Television Wins
The FX show Shogun had the most television wins of the night, tying with Emilia Pérez for total wins. The show, which is set in 1600s Japan, had three Best Performance wins: Hiroyuki Sanada (Lead Male Actor, Drama), Anna Sawai (Lead Female Actor, Drama), and Tadanobu Asano (Male Actor, Supporting). The series also won Best Television Series in the Drama category. Shogun is available to watch on Hulu, thanks to FX’s partnership with the streaming service.
One other FX on Hulu show won during the night. Jeremy Allen White earned Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for playing the head chef of an Italian beef shop in Chicago in The Bear. A Real Pain, which is currently only available to rent or buy on digital platforms, will be available to watch on Hulu on January 16. The film follows two cousins exploring their family’s history in Poland and earned Kieran Culkin an award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.

The Brutalist and Other Films are Still in Theaters
Some of the Golden Globes’ winners were released recently and haven’t made their way to streaming services yet. One of those is The Brutalist, which won three Golden Globes and could be a Best Picture winner at the Oscars. The Brutalist is about an architect who survived the Holocaust and comes to America to rebuild his life. The film won Best Motion Picture in the Drama Category, and Brady Corbet won for directing the film as well. Adrien Brody won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture in the Drama Category for his role as the architect László Tóth.
Flow won the award for Best Animated Motion Picture. The dialogue-free film shows a black cat and other animals going on an adventure. Fernanda Torres won Best Performance by a Female Actor for her role in the dramatic film I’m Still Here, which covers a time of turbulence in Brazil’s political history. The Brutalist, Flow, and I’m Still Here are showing in select theaters, so check your theater’s listings before going.

The Penguin, Hacks, and More Can Be Watched on Max
A few shows on the streaming service Max won Golden Globes. The Max-original about a young writer and old comedian, Hacks, won Best Television Series in the Musical or Comedy category. Jean Smart also won a Best Performance by a Female Actor award for her role in the series.
Colin Farrell won an award for Best Performance by a Male Actor for playing the lead in the HBO miniseries The Penguin, set after the 2022 film, The Batman. Jodie Foster won an award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in the HBO show True Detective: Night Country. Night Country is the fourth season of the anthology series True Detective.
A Different Man is only available to rent or buy at the moment, but the Golden Globe-winning film comes to Max on January 17. The film is about an actor with a skin condition deciding to undergo a medical procedure to change his face, and the film’s star, Sebastian Stan, won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture in the comedy category. A Different Man is coming to Max as part of A24’s deal with the streaming service, which could also bring The Brutalist to Max when it leaves theaters.

Peter Straughan won Best Screenplay for writing Conclave, a thriller about the election of a pope. Conclave could still win Best Picture at the Oscars, and the film is now streaming on Peacock. Wicked: Part One won an award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and is available to rent or buy on digital retailers such as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and Amazon Prime Video. The film will likely join Peacock when it reaches a streaming service, as its distributor, Universal Pictures, is affiliated with the streamer.
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won Best Original Score for Challengers, a romance film focused on three tennis players, which is now streaming on Prime Video. Demi Moore won her first major industry award for The Substance, which is about a celebrity using a drug to transform into a younger version of herself. Moore won Best Performance by a Female Actor in the Musical or Comedy category. The film is available to rent or buy, but it can also be watched with a Mubi subscription. Prime Video users can even get a seven-day free trial to watch the film with Mubi through Prime Video.
