Roma clearly has a problem with the final minutes of matches.
So far, the Giallorossi have paid dearly for the 15-minute blackouts, a seasonal constant.
In 27 games, Gian Piero Gasperini’s team has conceded 19 goals, but conceded seven in the final 15 minutes.
These late goals have cost the Roman side crucial points.
Among them, Donyell Malen and his teammates dropped points on the road against Napoli and Juventus.
Against Napoli, Alisson Santos scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute, while in the last match, goals from Jeremie Boga and Federico Gatti came in the 78th and 93rd minutes.
The matches against Napoli and Juventus would certainly have changed the standings for the better for Roma, who now find themselves having to defend fourth place with minimal margin for error.
As if that weren’t enough, the Giallorossi failed to even score in the final 15 minutes.
While the other top teams made the final minutes the decisive moment to secure the match, AC Milan among them, Roma, despite conceding so many goals, only scored six of 37.
If the Champions League race is won on the details, Gian Piero Gasperini, who was anything but despondent after the draw against the Bianconeri, knows exactly where to start working to iron out this flaw as well.
