There will be (lots and lots of) blood as Deadpool star Zazie Beetz unleashes her inner John Wick in an action-packed new clip from next month’s horror-action-comedy mash-up, They Will Kill You. Somehow managing to be even more terrifying and violent than even Keanu Reeves’ Baba Yaya, the footage (which you can check out below) teases the sheer level of savage martial arts mayhem that will be on display when They Will Kill You hits theaters in March.
From New Line Cinema and Nocturna, They Will Kill You promises to unleash a uniquely blood-soaked, high-octane horror-action-comedy about a mysterious young woman who must fight to survive the night at a demonic cult’s twisted death-trap of a lair. Based on the newly released clip via IGN, “WHO ARE YOU?”, there will be far more to Beetz’s character than meets the eye as she expertly dispatches two adversaries before turning her bloody blade towards a third, played by Patricia Arquette.
Described as a combination of the horror hit Ready or Not, which itself is getting a sequel this year, and the modern action masterpiece The Raid, They Will Kill You is the first project from Skydance’s new horror label Nocturna, which is headed up by none other than It: Welcome to Derry’s Andy and Barbara Muschietti. They Will Kill You is due to debut only in theaters in North America on March 27, 2026, and internationally beginning on 25 March 2026. In the meantime, you can check out the official synopsis below…
“A woman takes a housekeeping job in a mysterious New York City high-rise. As she unravels the building’s dark history of disappearances, she uncovers links to a possible satanic cult.”
The comparisons to both The Raid and Ready or Not are clear from the footage, as They Will Kill You follows a character trapped inside a building and fighting to survive, just like Iko Uwais’ rookie cop in The Raid, and all while discovering that said building is full of people who want to hunt and kill her, exactly like Samara Weaving’s unsuspecting bride in Ready or Not. But, based on this footage, even more violent than both.
Beetz’s mysterious ex-convict-turned-housekeeper Asia Reaves may even be more capable than The Raid’s Rama, Weaving’s bride, and Mr. Wick himself. After all, Reeves’ hitman never had to fight a gang of ruthless cult members while trapped in a hotel…and without his pants on. Despite these hurdles, Beetz’s new action antihero makes it look easy as she cuts down her enemies with aplomb, with the footage teasing all manner of R-rated mayhem to come. Zeetz herself has teased this mayhem, revealing recently that one sequence included nothing less than a “full blood explosion.”
“There was this moment where we have this like full blood explosion. We had been working toward it for so long. And we only got one take at it because of the clean-up. And that moment really embodied the spirit of what we’re trying to do. It was one of those ‘What a fun life I get to live’ moments — just joy and absurd.”
