As Scream 7 slashes its way into theaters this week, critics have delivered a stunning verdict on the horror thriller sequel. The film, starring Neve Campbell, brings much of the original cast back together, but it sounds like a return to basics was not what the franchise needed.
As of this writing, Scream 7 has a 44% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 36 reviews. If the score holds up, it will serve as the lowest for the long-running franchise, just under 2000’s Scream 3, which sits at 45%.
