CSME strengthens grip on broadcast market with CONCACAF deal

February 19 – The newly-rebranded Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment (CSME) has strengthened its grip on the Canadian football broadcast landscape after agreeing a one-year extension with CONCACAF for exclusive domestic media rights.

As before, CSME, rebranded from Canadian Soccer Business (CSB), will sublicense coverage to OneSoccer, which remains the dedicated home for Concacaf’s top-level international and club competitions in Canada.

The timing of the deal is particularly significant for the women’s game, with rights to the upcoming Concacaf W Qualifiers and Concacaf W Championship – the two competitions that will shape the region’s pathway to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2028 Olympic Games – included. The package also retains rights to the Concacaf W Champions Cup, the governing body’s elite women’s club competition.

On the men’s side, CSME will continue to hold exclusive rights to the 2026 Concacaf Nations League group stage and quarter-finals, as well as the Concacaf Champions Cup, the region’s top club tournament.

The extension adds further weight to a portfolio that already includes Canada Soccer national team fixtures and the Canadian Premier League, alongside international properties such as the Bundesliga and the US National Women’s Soccer League.

“We know Canadians love soccer, and our vision is to bring the biggest competitions in the region and around the world directly to them,” James Johnson, Group CEO of CSME, said. “Concacaf is a valued partner in that journey, and together we are ensuring Canadian fans have access to the competitions that matter most at a defining moment for the sport.

“By strategically aligning these rights within our broader media portfolio, we can amplify their impact and help Canadian soccer achieve the mainstream cut-through it deserves.”

Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani said: “We are very excited to extend our partnership with Canadian Soccer Media & Entertainment and to continue bringing Canadians from coast to coast to coast the very best of Concacaf football.

“With the World Cup fast approaching this summer, our Confederation stands at the center of the global game, and valued partners like CSME and OneSoccer play an important role in helping us showcase our premier men’s and women’s competitions while connecting more fans across Canada to the excitement and passion of our sport.”
