Newcastle take on Qarabag in the UEFA Champions League tonight, with this the first leg of our play-off tie and our third away game on the spin after recent wins at Spurs and Aston Villa.
Here are how the two sides line up for the 5.45pm kick-off in Baku.
Newcastle XI: Pope – Trippier, Thiaw, Burn, Hall – Willock, Tonali, Woltemade – Elanga, Gordon, Barnes.
Substitutes: Ramsdale, Ruddy, Harris, Shahar, A Murphy, Joelinton, J Murphy, Ramsey, Neave, Osula.
Qarabag XI: Kochalski – Silva, Mustafazade, Medina, Jafarguliyev – Bicalho, Janković – Leandro Andrade, Montiel, Zoubir – Durán.
Eddie Howe has made FOUR changes from Saturday’s 3-1 win at Aston Villa, seeing Nick Pope, Joe Willock, Anthony Elanga and Anthony Gordon replace Aaron Ramsdale, Jacob Ramsey, Jacob Murphy and Will Osula.
Woltemade appears to be in a deeper role once again, with Gordon expected to play as our false nine, flanked by Barnes on the left and Elanga on the right.
Joelinton is back in the squad and Ramsey’s minutes are being managed, but we’re without SEVEN first team players, with Bruno Guimaraes, Lewis Miley, Yoane Wissa, Sven Botman, Tino Livramento, Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth all out.
Three players are at risk of suspension, with Malick Thiaw, Dan Burn and Joelinton all facing a one-game ban if they are booked tonight, meaning they’d miss next week’s return leg if cautioned.
Howay the lads!
