Actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The incident in question took place early in the morning on Tuesday, February 17, at R Bar in New Orleans. After being removed from R Bar, LaBeouf allegedly hit a man multiple times with closed fists. According to the police report, he then left but later came back, allegedly acting more aggressive. After multiple people attempted to hold him down, LeBeouf was allegedly let up, as the police report puts it, “in hopes that he would leave.” But he then allegedly kept hitting the same man. After that, he allegedly punched a different man in the nose, and then was held down until police arrived on the scene. He was then taken to a hospital, arrested, and charged.
TMZ has posted a video it claims was taken before police arrived. It shows a shirtless LeBeouf on the ground. As LaBeouf rolls off his back, a person says, “Stay down,” and punches LaBeouf multiple times in the head. Multiple people tell the actor to, “Chill.”
