These five shows on Paramount+ include original series and Showtime classics that are worth checking out this week, February 16–20, 2026. As winter slowly comes to an end, these five acclaimed and fan-approved series will keep viewers engaged from start to finish.
From a couple of star-studded spy thrillers and a modern classic Western to a vintage gangster drama and a true-crime hidden gem, these five series are some of the very best and most binge-worthy series streaming now on Paramount+.
Central Intelligence: The Agency
Central Intelligence: The Agency is one of the best modern spy thrillers on Paramount+. Starring Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and more, The Agency is a dark and complex story of a CIA operative who can’t let go of his past.
Fassbender plays a CIA agent code-named Martian, who is pulled out of an assignment rapidly after years of living undercover. Martian risks his cover and national security to stay connected to a woman he fell in love with, all while trying to rescue a fellow operative who is exposed and captured across enemy lines.
Hell On Wheels
Hell on Wheels is one of AMC’s best series ever, created not long after instant classics like Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead were released. This epic Western series earned a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 89% and consists of 57 episodes across five seasons.
Hell on Wheels begins chronicling the story of a former Confederate soldier who joins the transcontinental railroad looking for revenge against those who killed his wife and son during the Civil War. The series expands across various regions of America and the Old West, including New York and the Utah Territory.
Brotherhood
Brotherhood may be one of the best yet most overlooked gangster crime dramas of the 2000s. Starring Jason Clarke and Jascon Isaacs, this series ran for three seasons and 29 episodes between 2006 and 2008, earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 79%.
Brotherhood takes place in an Irish-American neighborhood in Providence, Rhode Island, where two brothers, Michael (Isaacs) and Tommy Caffee (Clarke), operate on opposite sides of the law. If you loved The Departed, consider Brotherhood a must-watch.
Lioness
Lioness is one of Taylor Sheridan’s several original series streaming on Paramount+, but the only one that dives into the spy thriller genre. Oscar winner Zoe Saldaña plays CIA operative Joe McNamara, who leads an elite special ops team while juggling personal struggles.
Originally titled Special Ops: Lioness, the action thriller series currently consists of two seasons and 16 episodes. Season 3 is expected to be released sometime in 2026, making Lioness one of the best shows on Paramount+ to invest in ahead of its return later this year.
Waco
Waco is a modern yet somewhat hidden true crime thriller series on Paramount+ starring Taylor Kitsch and Michael Shannon. The 6-part miniseries chronicles the infamous 1993 showdown between the FBI, ATF, and religious leader David Koresh in Waco, Texas.
Waco received critical acclaim and 3 Emmy nominations, leading to the 2023 sequel series Waco: The Aftermath, which is also available to stream on Paramount+. Together, the two series make a great binge-watching experience with outstanding performances and an unforgettable story.
